...that you have ever written before?

You can answer it seperately for each type. For example:

What's the longest original story you have ever written before?

What's the longest fan fiction you've ever written before?

For myself....and not counting the co-writes I did with my friend Angie for the Third Watch fandom.....

Original: Thirty-seven to Eighteen (3275); but it was never completed, and I pretty much have zero intention of trying to now wink

Fan Fiction: Gang Related (30,725); Gargoyles Fandom - Elisa/Matt pairing.

What about the rest of you?

The longest thing I've written so far happens to still be in the works, and it's a novel I'm working on. Some of it's in my portfolio, actually. It's called Of Blood and Love, and currently, it's a bit over 56,750 words.

Wow! That's supremely long. How long has it taken you to write it thus far?

My Gargoyles fan fiction took me just on 2 years; was the longest story I had ever written before.

I believe I've been working on it for about a year and a half now. I'm hoping to have it finished by the time school ends this year, which will bring it up to a full two years of writing.

I don't really count the words in my stories, just pages, so I had to guess on this one. On average my stories are anywhere from 300 to 400 pages so it's hard to count...and a little pointless too. mrgreen

being strictly a poet/lyricist, the pieces I write don't tend to be that lengthy. though, to be fair, some of my poems have turned out quite long. blaugh

Hey, poems can be long. Have you ever heard of Beowolf?

Anyway, I don't tend to keep a word count since I have limited time to type my stuff up adn it's just too tedious to do it by hand. I'm estimating my stories rarely go over 5,000 words though. I like things short and sweet.

Gargoyle fan-fiction, that sounds interesting. Of course I have to admit that the elves were my favorite characters with Brooklyn and Hudson being the next most interesting people, and of course as always, Fox and Demona...so what ever happened to it, did you finish it, or is it like so many of mine, collecting dust?

I have to agree with you on that, the Brooklyn and Hudson had a lot of interesting storylines, so I liked to watch their episodes....especially ones with the Trio, they were cool. And Fox and Demona rule too smile I think Demona should've been given her own show, lol

Oh I completely finished it. And there were a handful of sequels, all of great lengths as well (but I don't think quite as long). I've thought of rewriting it, or at least updating it to fit my newer styles of writing. I may yet do that, before I archive that and so many other stories.

I do have to admit though, I've got a large number of fan fictions, for Gargoyles, and other fandoms, collecting dust as well, so it's good to not be alone there wink

The longest peice I've written is still in the works. It's currently 6,457 words long spanning over 17 3/4 pages. It's not all too impressive, but I'm working on it. In the end I'm expecting it to be over 100 pages long, since despite the length so far I still havn't really gotten into the story.

Me too...I can't write really long pieces at a stretch, so I kinda break them down into short epis of about 3-5000 words. The longest complete project so far was about 9 episodes long.

I couldn't say how many words are in my longest story... I haven't typed it all the way yet...(or even agood part of the way... sweatdrop ) It's well over a hundred pages written out, and I have a lot of supplimentarie material as well (Diagrams, doodles of characters, notes on plot ideas, etc.) I really should type more of it... the first two chapters are in my journal.

Excuse me for reviving a dead topic but I thought it was interesting. At the end of last year an original story I was working on (which I've spent so much time on it now makes me sick to look at) reached about an 80000 word count. I think it was something like that at least. I still have to finish writing the climax. I sort of skimmed over it when I was writing because i was too sick of the story.
