I'm going to start this off by walking through one of the best Mods ever made: Sentient Weapon.
This is a quest to make a sentient weapon, one with a soul in it. The soul attaches itself to it willingly; drifting in the Eternal Void isn't a lot of fun. First, you make your way to the inn outside Bravil and start walking on the road to Leyawiin, looking for a dark elf wearing iron amour but no helmet. He travels this road and will only stop to attack any bandits or animals that don't like anyone or you stop him. He will ask you if you are an adventurer; say yes. I was curios what would happen if you said no and he just gets depressed and the quest vanishes. He will then go n about the weapon, blah blah blah and send you out to get a treated Leather grip. The grip is in a chest and out in the middle of nowhere, with nothing around. Head south on the road and get as many places marked on your map that are on the road, as they will help you to intercept him later. Eventually, you will come to an inlet where the water from the big river juts inland and the road goes across a small wooden swing-bridge. Go across it and immediately hang a left and follow the shore line very closely. The road eventually swings back to where you are headed and takes a while to follow but you will find the "dock" he talked about. It's not really a dock but more of a wooden platform hanging over a small bit of water. Take out the nearby bandits. Now, stand on the dock and face toward the bridge across the water from you and turn to the right; you will see some trees and rocks on the shore that is twenty feet from you. Walk into the group of rocks and poke around in the middle of them and by the biggest ones their; you will find a chest with a Hard lock level on it and you have to pick it. Inside is the grip. Next, you will have to get a piece of marble and a special crystal. Go to the ruins north-west of Leyawiin ((where the Black-Bow Gang hangs out)) and take care of the hedge wizard out front and, depending on what time of day it is, The bowman on top of the ruins. Walk around the front to find that the ground slopes upward and jump onto the rock by the side that's to the left of the statue and jump onto the little ledge formed by one of the blocks of the white stone falling off. You should be able to get up the rest of the way easily. Now, be careful not to fall down behind the statue, as their are spikes their that will instantly kill you.Jump next to his head and try to land on his shoulder and arm. Either way works. Walk on either arm out to the broken sword and look at the part that it meets his hands. You should be able to open a container and grab the piece of broken marble you need. Walk off the arms and land in front of the doorway to the place. *Warning; this part is very hard!* In the left room are two bandits that will try to attack you and a Spectral Cat, a special creature made just for this mod, Is locked in the other side of the closed door. In the left room is some random crap and the button to open the gate. I would always stealth my way into the left room and open the door and sneak up on the cat and attack it, getting its attention and then bolting into the room with the bandits. They tend to attack it before attacking you. Also, jumping up onto the broken pillar in the other room and slinging spells/shooting it with arrows until it dies works best. Open the thing up and get the crystal. Next, you need to get three pieces of both Gold and Silver and one bar of Mithril. You can get the first two from the Jeweler in the Market District and the Mithril Bar from the shield shop that is tucked off to the side behind the Discount Spells shop. Now you need to get a pinch of Grave Dust from a recently deceased person and you have three choices. I'm not sure what the special things are that you get from the souls of the coward and the nut that thought he was a big shot at everything in life because I always stuck with Atkavir, a murderer who will randomly send you into a killing frenzy, almost killing everything in one hit. Last but not least, you get to pick what kind of weapon you want. I always pick the bow because I also have a mod where NPCs can't see you if you stay still behind objects that fully block their view of you. Otherwise, you can have a long sword, short sword, dagger, axe, or mace.
Have fun!

Woah, I might have to get this mod... Once I complete the main quest. And definitely the hide-behind-objects mod.

"What is the color of night?"You might also want to get the Balancing Mod where all of the weapons and armor will increase in level when you do to keep things more balanced. "Welcome home."

sephiroth-ck I've heard about that mod. What exactly does it do? Well, unlike Morrowind where all of the weapons and armor are at set levels, Oblivion has levels for them all, depending completely on your own level. However, once the item is not in an NPC's inventory or not randomly spawned in a box of any kind, they never level up with you and render your new bitching armor pointless! This mod forcibly removes everything, pairs their level up with yours and drops it all back into the container/your inventory, just as it was before. The only side effect is that the weapons you hot-keyed are no longer hot-keyed. Also, magic enhanced crap is leveled up too, including the enchantment too, even if it's by a single point.

sephiroth-ck Still means nothing to me! lol Don't worry, I don't think I'll ever understand it. Look; the damage that a weapon does and the magic it can deal out never changes in Morrowind, right? Well, in Oblivion, those numbers increase with every new level. The level that any weapon you or any NPC has depends completely on you own level, making it possible to fight against anything. However, certain ones for the story line will start at higher levels and go up from their. This mod fixes the problem of your own gear never leveling up and makes it more level-fielded when comparing the way the enemy's gear will level up with your own level. Get it, got it, good.

Oh, I think I see what you meant now... lol How when you look at a weapon, it shows how much it does for you under the shield icon! I thought you meant there was something going on behind the scenes other than that! lol
