Welcome! I am Hiko_Sun-Devil...but you can call me Hiko or SD. I found Solace Scents entirely by fluke...and didn't know what I wanted to quest for at first. And then the idea came to me while browsing through The Soap Box Company's website. Tea and Intrigue. A lovely soap, a lovely scent, and such a lovely concept. The scent and description brought to mind the gothic lolita culture I love so much, so...I welcome you to my gothloli inspired quest!

o1. Please do not steal anything from this quest! That includes any artwork, graphic design, the character of Hiko Kimura, or the Scent of Tea and Intrigue. I've worked hard on this!
o2. Please be kind and courteous. n00bs will be promptly kicked out. Newbies are welcome, and SS oldies are MORE than welcome.
o3. Donations are loved, gift art is loved...but please, for the love of Ammy, do NOT beg me for gold or items. Not only is it rude and distasteful, it kind of goes against the purpose of this thread...for me to gain the funds to purchase this custom.
o4. If you want to RP, just drop me a message here or in my PMs.
o5. I reserve the right to add or remove rules as I see fit.

You might not earn much as a waitress in a hookah bar, but what you learn is far more valuable. Velvety black tea, tawny tobacco leaf, a touch of smoke, cooled with cucumber.

Black Tea
Black tea is made from the dried leaves of Camellia sinensis , a perennial evergreen shrub. Black tea has a long history of use, dating back to China approximately 5,000 years ago. Green tea, black tea, and oolong tea are all derived from the same plant.

Black tea is a source of caffeine, a methylxanthine which stimulates the central nervous system, relaxes smooth muscle in the airways to the lungs (bronchioles), stimulates the heart, and acts on the kidney as a diuretic (increasing urine). One cup of tea contains approximately 50 milligrams of caffeine, depending on the strength and size of cup (as compared to coffee which contains 65 to 175 milligrams of caffeine per cup). Tea also contains polyphenols (catechins, anthocyanins, phenolic acids), tannin, trace elements, and vitamins.

Historically, tea has been served as a part of various ceremonies, and has been used to stay alert during long meditations. A legend in India describes the story of Prince Siddhartha Gautama, the founder of Buddhism, who tore off his eyelids in frustration at his inability to stay awake during meditation while journeying through China. A tea plant is said to have sprouted from the spot where his eyelids fell, providing him with the ability to stay awake, meditate, and reach enlightenment. Turkish traders reportedly introduced tea to Western cultures in the 6th century. By the 18th Century, tea was commonly consumed in England, where it became customary to drink tea at 5pm.

Tobacco
Tobacco is an agricultural product processed from the fresh leaves of plants in the genus Nicotiana. Tobacco has been growing on the American continent since about 6000 BC and began being used by native cultures at about 3000 BC. It has been smoked in one form or another since about 2000 BC. There are pictorial drawings of ancient Mayans smoking crude cigars from about 1400 BC. Tobacco has a very long history of use in Native American culture and played an important part in the foundation of the United States of America, going back to colonial times and the original Jamestown settlement.
(Note: Hiko does not encourage smoking! Nor does she smoke herself!)

Cucumber
Cucumbers originated in India where they have been cultivated for 3000 years. The cucumber (Cucumis sativus) is a member of the gourd family (Cucurbitaceae) as are melons, squash and pumpkins. Cucumbers grown for pickling (picklers) and those grown for fresh market (slicers) are the same species. Fruit of fresh market cucumbers are longer, smooth rather than bumpy, have a more uniform green skin color and a tougher, glossier skin than fruit of picklers.

Smoke
The heavy scent of something burning...

Name of Scent: Ophelie
Gender: Female
Scent: Tea & Intrigue
Physical description for each stage:
Oils - Ophelie starts out as a light brown oil, with hints of black and white swirling through it. As the smoke starts to rise from the warmed oil, it takes on an appearance similar to lace...
Child - Ophelie is a cute child, with wide brown eyes and long light brown hair. Her bangs are cut above her eyes, and her hair is often pulled into two fluffy ponytails on the sides of her head, closer to the back. Her clothing is simple, but girly: a below knee-length white empire-waist camisole dress with black lace at the 'waist', straps, and bottom hem; a pair of black gloves with white lace at the tops; a simple white headband; a pair of white socks with black lace at the tops; and a pair of black Mary Janes.
Adolescent - Ophelie is still cute, though her wardrobe has certainly become a bit more complicated...Her brown eyes are still wide, though they now have a more observant quality to them, and her hair is much the same...though the ponytails are now the 'ringlet ponytails' of gothloli fame. Her dress is similar to this, though predominantly white with black as the minor color. She wears a pair of black Mary Janes with white socks that have black ribbons at the top, and carries a white lace parasol with black fringe.
Adult -
Elder -
Personality: Obedient , watchful, curious
Wings: O.o;.....

Name: Hiko Kimura 'Sun-Devil'
Age: 200, appears in her early twenties
Race: Human-born werefox
Path: Eji/Warrior
Occupation: Runs a small 'library' of sorts. As in, she loans books out, but they're all from her collection. It has many newer books, of all sorts, but it also has older and rarer books. Hiko is constantly looking for new additions. And books being turned in on time is no problem...she keeps little fox-magics on the books to avoid them being stolen.

Appearance: Hiko is an attractive girl, though has an air of 'don't f*** with me'.
