This happens to me.
I'm watching a musical, and then they start up a new song. I hear my instrument, the french horn, in a solo, and I start getting all happy and thinking "Hey, I play that!"
And so I just listen to that and pick it out from all of the other instruments. xd Kind of gets me distracted from movies sometimes.
BUT.
Have you ever had anything like this happen to you?
If you hear your instruments somewhere, do you perk up and want to listen to it?

that has happened to me before but i was in this play and the pit band was playing and there was a flute solo i was like omg and i almost forgot my lines lol :]

ALL THE TIME! And I play like, five different instrumnets. So I'm all like, FLUTE, WOO! Oh wait is that piccolo? Clarinet! OMG bassoon! And a tenor sax! So people sometimes think I'm crazy, lol.

I do that all the time. We watched a movie in class, and I was sitting with my flute freind. And we got to arguing over whose part was cooler in the movie's music. It was funny.
Whenever I hear the Tuba, whenever watching or listening to anything, I always go "Yes!"

do that almost all the time...some times the alto sax. is hard to pick out tho. but when i do hear it i usually forget about whats going on at the time and listen for it
