I suppose most people haven't played HackMaster- I like that you can buy your way up to 25 points in whatever stat you wish, but that is balanced by flaws and quirks. It takes some experience to get the right sort of character, which I did not have. And so, an elegy for my recently killed first character, Keese. For some background, we were playing the Temple of Elemental Evil, which our GM had modified for HackMaster. Two PCs and two NPCs, Elmo and Zert, were exploring a moathouse, when Zert betrayed us. It did not end well.
---
Keese Dahlgren, a half-elf bold Enough to run away Was beaten into the ground In a bloody TPK.
An acrobat, he rather lacked The finer roguish arts. Sadly, his sole proficiency Was in throwing lawn darts. Strong as an ox, frail as a leaf And dumber than a brick, There were no redeeming qualities In the things that made him tick. He was psychotically averse To the sight of his own race, And also nightmared chronically (His mother beat him with a mace.) Kicked out of inns for his wild screams He consoled himself with food And packed on pounds, ‘til thirteen stone And five-foot two he stood.
Level two, going on three Was Keese when he passed away. Most who knew him still insist He had it coming, anyway.
-- Anyone else have characters they rather abhorred? Or would like to share a poem of any quality related to gaming?

He draws his sword, he slashes thrice. It's much too big, for an accurate slice. He hits himself upon his head I really wish he'd stay there dead. For Cloud is such an awful man, A person I can hardly stand. He made poor Aeris become dead, and Tifa... well, must more be said? I'm sure one day he'll redeem himself, Till then, his figure's not on my shelf.
I'm sure you can tell what game this is from. I think I did an okay job, too. Then again, all my poems usually need a little polishing.
