Okay, finally got around to making this.

It's been out for a bit now so hopefully some of you have gotten your hands on it! Opinions?

I am incredibly disappointed with...

indiafm.com (which has turned into some other site, which is freaking weird). I can't believe that they gave the wonderful soundtrack 2/5. I cannot believe that whoever wrote it (name is failing me at the moment) dared to do that.

Rediff.com, however, got it right. I think they gave it 4/5 which is better.

I am incredibly happy with...

There are no remixes. I love those instrumentals. They are simply amazing! I also love the song "Jashn-E-Bahaara" to death. I think I could listen to that song on repeat for the rest of my life and die happy. I love the beginning of "Khwaja Mere Khwaja" so much, too. I can't even explain it (mostly because I am not listening to the soundtrack now), but that's okay.

"Azeem-O-Shaan Shahenshah" sounds so epic! It's really well done (and it has the theme music that I hear everywhere), but it's not really my song. "Jashn-E-Bahaara" is my kind of song because of the whole romantic part of it. But Azeem sounds like a good opener for the movie.

"Mann Mohana" might be my least liked song and I heard that Aishwarya was originally planned to sing for this song, but with her busy schedule (I am looking forward to the Pink Panther, because um Andy Garcia and Steve Martin are freaking AWESOME), she was unable to do it. It's unfortunate, but it happens. It's not bad exactly, but it doesn't seem up to par with the others.

"In Lamhon Ke Daaman Mein" is such a depressing song. It's nicely done, but like "Mann Mohana" it's not up to par. I don't know why, but that's just how I feel.

The instrumentals definitely get 5/5 because they're so gorgeous to listen to. To me, Jashn-E-Bahaara (the song and the instrumental, really) are the songs I can go to bed listening to because it's so soft and perfect. I have a playlist for Bollywood I listen to as I go to sleep and those will go on there. smile

[[ None of these songs really fit what I'd listen to on a day-to-day basis. I'm more of that hip-hop, R&B girl. But the soundtracks to this movie have had a lot of hard work put into them by some of the best out there. Like, the legendary A.R. Rehman. There's nothing bad you can say about the guy. Everything he does is good in some way. The first two in my list are my absolute faves from this movie. The bottom three are beautiful in their own ways, but.. a tad bit too.. saddening. Especially the last two. ]]
[[ The reason I think that this soundtrack got a 2/5 from indiafm.com is because.. well, face it. B'wood movies revolve around the songs, right? People like club music. Or stuff that can be remixed to be club music. You wouldn't catch any DJ in their right mind spinnin' Jashn-E-Bahaara at any party. Soo many movies have at least one song from its track remixed, if not all the tracks. It'd take some serious talent to be able to remix any of these tracks, cuz they're meant to be listened to the way they are. It'd be something I'd definately listen to to calm myself, listen to in the morning, or late into the night. Beautiful and soothing. ]]

This soundtrack is amazing! Jashn-E-Bahaara would have to be my favorite song too. The lyrics are so beautiful and romantic! heart Azeem-O-Shaan and Khwaja Mere Khwaja are also very good.
