The things Im never caught without at a tea party would include....
1. tiny opera hat or a bonnet 2. petticoat 3. fancy tea gloves 4. pretty sunday dress 5. stockings. (always wear them ladies, your stockings prove your virtues) 6. Mary jane shoes or a fancy boot 7. hairpins
I simply adore getting all fancied-up for a tea party! they are such elegant fun.... what do you all wear?

I like to wear my lolita outfit from Candy Violet.
I need to buy new stockings though!

I greatly enjoy wearing white headbands with huge bows on them. And of course, black and white striped stockings.

Petticoats are a must. Lolita dresses don't look good flat.

I agree, when the dresses are flat, it makes the lolita look like she was dunked underwater and her dress was ruined.
So my obvious opinion is that loli dresses were made to have petticoats!

Here here! I dare no self respecting Loli would not be caught dead without her petticoat and a reliable pair of stockings. And as for what I find most proper for an afternoon tea, I must say that I most delight in the Sweet Loli styles, as a tea party is a merry occasion, not one to be met with the sad and practical aspects of Goth Loli palettes.

I've actually never been to a tea party sad to say. I'm the only one of my friends even remotely interested in things of this matter that would be respectful. confused

Yeah I like huge hair bows too, but they can be hard to find at a reasonable price.

Laurelindoren Petticoats are a must. Lolita dresses don't look good flat. Agreed, though the irony in that sentence makes me giggle. (Lolitas in the other sense, are usually "flat"...)
