I was looking on DeviantART, and realized there were a TON of other characters named Dash on the site. Not only that, but there was even another "Dash the Cat".
Normally this wouldn't matter, but Dash is my protagonist character and one of the main themes I sculpt, he needs an original name. I needed a name just like Dash and most other official sonic characters (A few exceptions, Amy for example). It has to be short, and it has to mean something about the character (Example: Tails because he has two tails, Rouge because she wears rouge, etc.).
I have come up with a few names, so please vote on which would work the best. Also, I might be changing Dash's powers to power over Wind, not lightning. But we will see.
Cirrus: A light, wispy cloud made of ice fragments. Levante: A Mediterranean wind in northeastern Spain. Samiel: A sand-filled wind in Africa, known to suffocate people. Sharav: An extremely hot wind. It means "Burning Heat" or "Heatwave" in Hebrew.

I think that Dash suits him just fine, though. It's ridiculous to change it just because thousands of others have used it.
I mean, how many Knights have I seen? A few. Maybe they weren't Technocolians, but they still had that name! I find it pointless and confusing to change it.

Not thousands, but there are a few popular characters on DeviantART named Dash. And when it comes down to there being even another Dash the Cat, it just feels like his thunder is stolen. It wouldn't be THAT confusing, but I'm still deciding.

Well, if it makes you feel better, I have two monkey characters named Micheal. I mean, how confusing is that?
Micheal + Mikel is how I tell them apart.

Well, it normally would be fine. But if a character is going to become popular at all on DeviantART (Or at all, for that matter), it needs to be original.
I'm still debating it, though. I might or might not, maybe I'll make Twitch my main character. But trust me, popularity and how well people like a character matters a lot, at least if I want the art to be more public at all. Uniqueness is one of the main things for a character, and a name is almost as important as an appearance. It would be like making him look exactly like Sonic.
