I have a friend who went to a Jesus camp lol.

To me, religion is moral standards and I think to pressure kids into something they should decide on their own is bad. Like, I'm going to raise my kids Christian, but I'm not going to force them to adapt to my beliefs on matters, but let them discover their own relationship with religion.

Also in the middle east it's not uncommon to tell your children that Americans are evil, and in most schools they discuss it every day and they are raised to hate. But we shouldn't be telling our children that >.> A lot of religion is raising kids to hate, like homosexuality whatnot. It's all sick.

That's in Kansas right? 'Cause Melissa Etheridge was talking about that, the reverend and his family even came ot her class re-union to demonstrate against her, and they go everywhere she is when she's in Kansas.
We also have a thread about them in this Gay-Straight Alliance guild I am in, here on Gaia. I don't understand how people can be so rude that they actually go to someone's funeral to shout obsenities! >:l

I can't imagine what makes these people think that what they're doing is right. People deserve more respect than what the WBC gives them.

I went to bible camp for multiple years and loved it! The camp I went to was much less GOD HATES YOU, and YOU, and THEM OVER THERE, and THAT GUY, oh, and YOU. It was more of a play games, have fun, sing, go get bug bitten, pee in the lake, fail at canoeing, meet a raccoon while trying to walk to the showerhouse at 3 in the morning, and read more about God's love. But, I digress.
