Just coming in to say that I've been really ... busy I guess. Moving stuff and trying to find stuff and trying to get into school and needless to say I have a lot of work to do on the guild but I'm not sure where to start.
I've been kind of avoiding the guild too because God knows when you have a lot of work to do and you aren't sure where to start the best solution is to avoid the problem! So yeah, major fault of my own.
I'd really really appreciate if you could post here or message me with things you'd like me to work on with the guild. You guys probably have opinions and it'd help me to hear them. It'd help me learn what's most important to you guys and knowing it means so much to you would, unfortunately, help motivate me more.
So erm, if there's something you'd like me to fix, add, remove, etc please post it here or message me (best results if you post here though). I cry easily but go ahead and be brutally honest.
Things I want an opinion on: How to get active members
We don't want more members we want *active* members. They make the game run smoothly and they make the game more fun. I'm considering giving a weekly prize to the most active member of the week but I have a feeling it'd be the same people every week and people wouldn't think that's fair. Any ideas?

Send me that monster, maybe I can come up with something.
And seriously, give the Crew its own forum for discussing things! It's annoying always having to resort to 1 on 1 pm'ing when a group talk is called for, thus having to use other means of communication for that sort of thing (especially if it's such a fleeting thing as live chat. Do not like live chats, there's a risk that you can't go back to reread something important.) which some people might not even be online at, much less have! And to have to leave out certain "sensitive" details because it would ruin surprises for our members BECAUSE THEY COULD SEE IT if I posted it does nothing to kickstart the creative process. And we could discuss changes so much better, instead of having 2 or 3 people making changes and the rest of us having to live with them. (Bit like Ben, in a way)
If we had our own forum, we could post monster ideas, quest ideas and spur each other on, give critisism and generally just let ideas sprout and bloom somewhere no noncrew person is going to come and go "Hey, is that really going to happen? Cool!" before we're even finished with it.
Short version: Give the entire Crew it's own forum and you shall never be alone with your creative processes again.

Thank you.
And the Active Member prize is a good idea, but you'd might to make it so that people who've already received it can't receive it again before after a certain amount of time has passed or a certain number of other people have won it. (I know my post count is into 600-something, and that takes some serious activeness to catch up with.)
Maybe people can gain rewards for other stuff, like battling their 10th battle (battles are time-consuming, after all) or receiving a new badge to put in their campground every 100 posts? (maybe 50 instead.)
I mean, prizes are good, but they only affect one person at a time, and if you want a lot of active members, well, then we've got to give them something to strive for, something anyone could get with a bit of effort. (A lot of small goals are easier to go for than one HUGE one when you're all new and rookie-like. Or old and lazy.)
Oh, and people don't receive Sp along with the badge, since they already earn Sp by posting or winning battles. And the badges would be replaced as you earn them, so they shouldn't clutter so much.

That's an interesting idea. Maybe something along the lines of this:
100 Posts - Young Poster Badge! Along with any item the person wants under 200g
500 Posts - Intermediate Poster Badge! Along with any item the person wants under 1000g
etc etc
This could also go for things like Battling, Hosting Contests, Breeding, Obtaining a certain level, etc
Also, I'd like to give rewards to people who are helpful to new members. We have enough crew members for now (I think) but a prize to those who are helpful would be very nice.

Starlurk Also, I'd like to give rewards to people who are helpful to new members. We have enough crew members for now (I think) but a prize to those who are helpful would be very nice. The "Good Samaritan" badge! (Also know as the "Wow, you are a patient person" badge. xd )

Hey Ariel did you know that 98% of Gaia doesn't use rational thought? If you're part of the 2% who does put this in your sig!
