Offices
The Light Fortress

The Light Fortress is located above the Southern Sea, very close to the Desua Mountains. It is the Heart of the Light Force, at the top of their command chain. Here is where the loyals come to sign for a spot in the army and the clerks process all the paperwork. Combining ten towers, 3 floors and a basement, this fort is one to be envied.

The light floor offices are found on the main floor, right next to the mess hall. There are four offices right next to each other, one for each general. Here, the loyal generals of Soladi conduct their business. The generals are Alena, Emera Terrwyn Ethelred, ________ and ________. Although the outsides and sizes are the same, the insides are different, tending to each generals personal taste. In these walls, paper work and private work is done. Many soldiers who are out of line are sent here for punishment, especially if the captain’s cannot deal with them. Soladi's office is right outside of the main building.

Soladi's Office
Soladi's office is neat although it is right outside of the main building. She always keeps her door open. Anyone is allowed inside of her office as long as she is inside.

The wooden walls are covered with brightly colored flowers and a dirt floor covers the ground. The furniture is all natural and made entirely of bright pine wood. The beauty of her bright office welcomes all who need help.

Alena's Office
Alena's office walls are made of a gray stone and covered with various paintings. The room contains a large desk. The desk has a lamp and several small statuettes of diffrent animals, the rest is covered in neatly piled stacks of papers and writing utensils. Also in the room are chairs on either side of the desk and a coach next to a small table in the corner for visitors to recline in.

Emera Terrwyn Ethelred's Office
Emera’s office was a small square-ish room that she had painted lush green forest amongst an early-twilight background, with a few stars peeking through the light blues and purples of the painted sky. Because she was not used to a hard stone floor, the whole floor of the square-ish room was covered in a deep forest green rug that she had bought to accommodate her office. In the center of the twilight forest room, an ornate, dark, oak desk stood and because of its woodland like qualities pulled the whole room together.

This was not going to be entertaining.

Ren's footsteps were heavy, his boots clunking like lead as he made his way, with a suitably lethargic pace, up the spiral staircase towards the fortress offices. He moved like a man approaching his execution; his lithe frame was wearily hunched, the one long arm not preoccupied with carrying his meagre satchel of belongings hanging limp and listless at his sides Creases of anxiety marred his pale face, more so than the frustrated scowl he couldn't seem to shift. In Ren's mind, it might as well be an execution.

He was doomed. A full year he'd been away, lurking in towns, bars, farms, villages the continent over, his pointed ears cocked for any scrap of information that might drift on the murmuring tide of conversation into his grasp. His spying and espionage were what kept him far from the front lines, and enabled him to live as free a life as possible in this war-torn world. But the price for that freedom was information, and the moment his wanderings failed to be beneficial to the Light Army's generals was the moment their permission for it would give out.

The crown of the staircase approached, the floor beyond just visible. Ren gave his head a shake, and gritty sand from the Deadly Desert drifted off from his loose, rough blond braid. It sat in the creases of his clothes as well; testimony to how fast and how constantly he had travelled from that area of the continent. A painful twinge from his aching side reminded Ren of part of the cause for that - all too desperate for some useful nugget of information to return to the Fortress with, he had plunged too deeply and too recklessly into an enemy outpost and been chased, he and his pursuers on horseback, for several miles before they gave up. The ride had been rough and over treacherous terrain, and Ren brushed his free hand against his side, hoping it was nothing more than bruised.

It had been reckless, but necessary in his eyes. Ren had nothing; soldiers from the other side were being tight-lipped, mercenaries even quieter. Even Light officials who were known to be accepting bribes from the enemy were being exceptionally careful; Ren had nothing. A year of free wandering and whichever General he was unfortunate enough to meet up with would grill him when he had nothing to show for it. The second he'd received the message calling him back to the Fortress, that reckless stunt had been worth pulling.

But it hadn't paid off, and Ren's hands were as empty as when he'd started. Knowing his luck they'd reallocate him, maybe even patronise him enough to make him retrain given his many years now without frontline combat experience. Rubbish. Maybe it would have been better not to have come back at all, be labelled a deserter and stay on the run.

No, too difficult nowadays. The war had spread too far and he wouldn't be able to escape it. Besides, Ren's vision of freedom did not include hiding and skulking to avoid anyone seeing it. There was nothing he could do, so he set his narrow jaw and proceeded past the noise from the mess hall, towards the row of offices.

In his heart of hearts, he knew this was going to turn out to be a very bad week.

Alena trotted down the gray stone hallway of the light fortress towards her office. She was in one of her favorite shapes, a small red fox with a bushy tail and cold black eyes. After navigating threw corridors and stairwells Alena pushed the ajar wooden door open and walked into her office. Nimbly she jumped up onto a chair that was standing in front of a large desk at the end of the room.

For a few minutes she half heartily scanned military reports, inventory statements, and letters. Then her ears pricked and she looked up. There was a noise of heavy plodding footsteps in the hall. she gingerly jumped of the chair and onto the floor making as much noise as a fly alighting on a leaf. She slowly walked to the door, but before peering around the edge she shifted to a scarab beetle. "Can't be to careful these days" she thought as she shuffled around the edge of the door.

A man was coming around the corner from the staircase. Judging from the noise he was making and his casual walk Alena thought it was a good guess that he was not a intruder from the dark side. She shifted back to her previous fox form. "Are you a solider sent to check in?" she asked looking across the hall at the man.

Teriel stumbled along the corridors of the Light fortress until he ended up in the offices section where he belonged "Hello?" He called out hoping a more experienced person would direct him where he needed to go. "I supposed I'll just keep ambling around until some one finds me." He stated to himself as he began walking a little loudly trying to be heard.

User ImageSoladi sat up and gazed at the light, What? It's morning already? She looked down at her desk the papers she was laying on were all cumbled and scattered."Oh no! I didn't!" She screamed. She had fell asleep trying to finish up the papers for the new recuits. She scrambled together them together reading over them to make sure she had finished. Oh why did I have to wait till last minute on these papers?she thought to herself as she climbed under her pine desk to pick up some papers that had fell onto the floor.

At the sound of the voice from across the hall, Ren glanced up, his treacle-brown eyes meeting the cold, sharp gaze of a red fox protruding from an office doorway. Karokami bustled with a vast variety of species, but it was always disconcerting to converse with one that oughtn't be able to speak at all. Shapeshifters were not entirely uncommon but being unable to recognise people by their appearance was a pain. If Ren were a shapeshifter, it would be that much easier to hide from the military, and the war, but alas, silly pipe dreams.

"Sort of," he answered without decorum or salute, though if the creature were coming out of an office she was either a General or a wayward soldier, or perhaps a spy . . . Ren was tired and found himself hard-pressed to care. He rummaged in one of the pouches of his travel bag to procure the now immensely crumpled scrap of parchment he had received from a military messenger. "But I'm not a new recruit. I was called back from my travels. I guess a general somewhere wants my report, huh?"

"O, so your a spy then." Alena said nodding her head in understanding. "I'll take your report then" and after a pause added "I am general". She trotted over to were he stood, reared up onto her hind legs and out stretched her two front paws to the worn parchment. She had gotten very good at standing and balancing on two legs when she was in this form. It just made things easier. She could just shift into a human form, there build made it easy to stand up and have use of the hands. However for some reason a human form was.. uncomfortable for Alena, something about it made it hard for her to hold. Often when she shifted to a human shape she would shake and then end up shifting back in a few moments anyways. She wasn't about to let anyone know about this weakness, until she could fix it somehow. In the mean time she just made excuses for always staying in animal forms.

I do hope these recruits know what they have signed themselves up for…

Thought Emera, as she walked along the grey, stone, dank hallway toward her office, her footsteps echoing through the hall. She had woken up late and knew that she would have a few hundred recruit reports to look at when she got to her office.

Dreading arriving at her office, she took a detour through the main corridor, and looped back around and back to the offices. She was trying to kill as much time as possible because she was dreading all those recruit forms. All she wanted to do was start training the incoming crowds to become hard-working, well-rounded, soldiers that did as they were told without complaint.

Knowing that she would have to face those god awful papers, she walked through the stone halls once more toward her office. She reached the door to her office, released a heavy sigh and turned the doorknob into the room.

Glad to be in her glade of an office, Emera, closed the door behind her, and strode across the room to sit down in the comfy looking arm chair that matched the desk, when she heard voices coming from the hall. Irritated, Emera walked back to the front, and opened the door to see why people were talking when work had to be done.

“Please do keep it down. There are people who have a large amount of paperwork to finish.”

Emera stepped outside her door just enough to lean up against the door-frame and give the disruptants an inquisitory and irritated look. She was not one for being happy about being disrupted.

Alena fell back onto all fours as she turned to face the one who had interrupted her conversation. Annoyed she shifted into a unusually large black crow, "I agree there is a great deal of work to be done madam, and unfortunately some of it does require talk." Turning back to the brown eyed man she snatched the crumpled paper out of his hand. "Next time I advise you to have a little more respect for your fellow generals" Alena said with a angry fire in her eyes to the woman in the doorway. With that she swiftly turned and stalked down the hall and into her office.

Entering her office she flew over and landed on the top of her desk. She dropped the paper which now had a small tear in it from being so roughly held in her beak.
