My personal Shielding.

I use a daily shielding ritual myself which calls upon the God and four archangels, Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel.

Simplified a bit but you can get the jist of it.

As with most rituals, I cast a circle. I draw a line around what space I need with my sword, then I lay him, he has named himself for me so he is a him, down next to me and kneel. I call out to the Lord, as the Israelites called him, and ask for his presence and energy in my ritual, I then follow suit with the archangels, best to call turn and call them down to their respective cardinal direction, next I visualize energy flowing through me, from god, the archangels, and the respective elements, into my Solar Plexus Chakra. Once I feel I have enough I direct that energy into a ball in my hands. I inscribe that energy with Three of the Galdor Runes. Algiz, Eihwas, Tyr. These runes have worked for me I recommend you disuse them, call to god and the archangels, or study the runes yourself before using my combination.

Next I dig my hands into the center of the ball of energy and pull it open until the outside edges touch my circle, and I am inside the sphere. I then pull the energy close until it touches my skin, forming a tight field, sort of an armor. I then Lock it in place and end the ritual, say farewell to the Archangels, Speak a formal bonding with God, and Open the circle.

It works for me and even after having not used it in, currently, 3 days I can still feel the runes were they rest on my chest and know it is still there, been using a pouch filled with three runes stones, with those runes on them obviously, and a cross as a focus to reinforce the field.

Actually I can see auras, no color really but its there. I love the fact that I first saw them in Church. In my youthful ignorance I called them halos.

Might experiment with your Chakra, I believe one of them can help control your empathy, Heart chakra I believe.

Actually I've started doing meditations every night, and usually about half an hour before I actually meditate, I light a single candle on my headboard and let the scent fill my room. It's become my center focus as of late, but only Vinny knows why. It's kinda personal but if you want to know, PM me.

Some people are ritual people, and some aren't. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.

I don't do much ritual, either--well, compared to you guys who do it everyday or whatnot. I should shield everyday, though. I haven't been. Maybe it's a good habit to get into, but whatever.

I just usually do a ritual every Full Moon and every Sabbat. Not much to do there...

Maybe I should have a circle every New Moon, too, and do a major shielding there. Shield the house, shield myself and family members. Then I could do minor stuff daily and then still have the Full and Sabbat rituals.

That would be a good idea, don't you think???

If you don't think it's too much for you, I think you should go ahead. Do you use your own energy for rituals, or do you pull it from somewhere?

I'm thinking about starting a ritual of some kind for myself. It might give me something to focus on, something other than doing it when I feel like I have time and being stressed on top of it. Hopefully falling into a routine will help me develop all the things I'm trying to do. Very rarely do I pull energy from anywhere outside myself. I don't trust it, and given that I'm essentially a magnet wrapped in double-sided tape, I'm already dealing with a lot just by walking through a room. But I DO pull sometimes from the church across the street. It's like PART of it's mine because it's MY church. *shrug*

Any suggestions for getting a ritual started?
