I was watching the DVDs with the commentary on, and they were talking about how if they'd continued the series, they were planning on having Dib finishing Tak's ship, running away from home, and joining the Resisty. I thought that it would make a great fanfiction. Would it be plagarism, or would it just be springboarding, since the episodes never got made?

Well... good idea, but I know I wouldn't be writing it. blaugh Someone should, though. I'd like to see more of the Resisty- they were cool.

there are already a bunch of fanfics about that. but i think it is true that dib would have joined the resistyand attacked Irk, or he could have chased Zim from planet to planet each episode. the first one preferably because the second seems like they were trying to keep it going, wich would be stupid

The plot is pretty much what the Pirate Monkeys at Nickelodeon had planned for the made-for-TV movie, Invader Dib. There was speculation on how it would have progressed. You can find ideas at some of the better Zim sites.
As far as a fanfic idea goes, it's not that uncommon for us Irken fans and Irken fanfic writers to take the bits and pieces of a planned Season 2+ episode and write our take on it. People have done The Battle for Meekrob, the Season 2 hour long finale (the only one in existence, too!) as a fanfiction. Others have done episodes like It Feeds on Noodles and GIR's Big Day.
So go ahead and let those creative juices flow from your squidgy squeedlyspooch! We're all right behind ya!
