Kingdom Hearts portables info thread (PSP/DS/mobile, clean scans, info) #1 Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep (PSP) - Developed by the KH Re:CoM (PS2) team at the Osaka branch of S-E. - Co-directed by Tai Yasue, who also co-directed KH Re:CoM - 3 scenarios, 3 main characters, play in any order - Battle system is a mix of KH CoM (deck of abilities/skills) and KH's normal controls - The random elements and the timing based gameplay is Nomura's evolution of what he used in CoM and IAWW Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (DS) (AXEL AND MANY PARTY MEMBERS) - Developed by h.a.n.d., the guys that made Chocobo DS. - Co-directed by Tomohiro Hagesawa, who also co-directed IAWW. - Multiplayer gameplay is mission based, and your friends can play as any of the XIII Org members. - Scenario is compared to Crisis Core, in that most people will know how it ends, but not how it will flow. Kingdom Hearts Coded (Mobile) - Developed by the Before Crisis FFVII team. - Co-directed by Hajime Tabata, who directed Before Crisis and Crisis Core. - Disney worlds will be available as individual downloads. - The setting involves Sora's memories being accessed, possibly through a computer. It is compared to CoM's scenario in that sense. - Graphics are 2D sprites on 3D backgrounds to allow both high spec and low spec phones to be support. - Planned to be released internationally, hence the focus on compatibility.

BIG TIME INFO!!! http://www.siliconera.com/infosphere/kingdom-hearts/
Less than 358 days until Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days debuts Written by: Spencer on January 2nd, 2008
koh358.jpgKingdom Hearts 358/2 Days appeared alongside Dissidia: Final Fantasy with a playable build at Jump Fiesta 2007. Like the Final Fantasy fighter, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days will also appear sometime in 2008. In the game you play as Roxas, a member of Organization XIII, between the events of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts II. Unlike Chain of Memories there are no cards to worry about. Players use the familiar Kingdom Hearts menu interface to cast spells and whack heartless with a keyblade.
The most novel feature is how you can team up with other Organization XIII members like Axel, Saix and Xigbar through local Nintendo DS wireless play. New Disney movies probably aren’t going to be a draw here. Confirmed worlds include familiar locations like Olympus Coliseum, Wonderland and Twilight Town. Perhaps, this won’t be an issue since the Kingdom Hearts franchise has developed its own mythology to stand on.

kh3582.jpgKingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days will be playable for the first time in just a few weeks. The Nintendo DS spinoff stars Roxas and it will fill the time gap between Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts II. Players will get a chance to see the inner workings of Organization XIII and test out other characters like Axel.
I suppose this news is unexpected. Square-Enix just revealed Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days at Tokyo Game Show and a working build is already complete. I’ll take this is as a sign we’re going to see Kingdom Hearts: 3568/2 Days soon rather than later and that Jump Fiesta 2008 is the place to be if you want to see what Square-Enix is bringing out in 2008.

Dr. Zaius sent over a tip (thanks!) that a bunch of scans from Famitsu featuring the new Kingdom Hearts games are online. While the trailers have not been released to the public, there are enough pictures to give you a good sense of what we saw at Tokyo Game Show ’08.
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep

The prequel stars Terra (pictured in the blue) and Ven who looks a lot like Roxas who are trying to track down Master Xehanort. In battle the menu on the bottom left rotates commands. From there you can select keyblade attacks indicated by a red key and spells like Blizzaga indicated by the purple hat.

khstock.jpgInside Square-Enix's closed theater they showed trailers for three new titles in the Kingdom Hearts series.
The first trailer was for Kingdom Hearts Coded, a mobile phone game. The trailer began with two books and one said "We must return to free them from torment" on the last page. Jiminy Cricket runs over to Mickey with the book and the screen flashes to Destiny Island with Sora wearing his original costume. Now a look at the battle system, which looks just like a lower resolution Kingdom Hearts except for a debugging mode which makes a bunch of cubes appear.
Next trailer.

khtiny.jpgSquare-Enix has been pretty quiet about their next installment in the Kingdom Hearts series. Some believed it was going to be a spinoff, others thought it was a direct sequel. V-Jump has the first information on it and their scan about an upcoming Kingdom Hearts project raises even more questions. You can clearly see Roxas, Axel, Sora and his pals in the scan. However, if you follow the timeline of the games all these characters can't be together if this is a direct sequel. Also look at Sora's costume. He is wearing his threads from the first game, which suggests these pictures are from some kind of Chains of Memories retelling of the second game.

It’s been a while since Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix + was released as well as the extended secret ending to the game which, as totally expected, spurred up intense interest in the events seen in the extended ending which possibly alluded to a new Kingdom Hearts game. It wasn’t until Nomura himself debunked such speculation by saying there won’t be a Kingdom Hearts III; if anything, there’ll be projects, or a set of new series, that take place in the Kingdom Hearts universe, much like the offshoot Final Fantasy XIII games taking place in the game’s main universe. Sounds good in theory, but its best to wait until those titles see fruition to seek judgment.
Now, of course, new information from Kingdom Hearts Network has learned, after translating more of the Nomura interview in Famitsu magazine, that Nomura elaborates more on the next Kingdom Hearts project and what it could possibly be about. To quote Nomura from the interview
It is not Kingdom Hearts III, but it is an anecdote (extra or side-story) work! I think Sora [still] has a big role to fill! So let’s focus on other characters other than Sora for the following work now. (Tomo’s note: Nope, doesn’t mean new outfit for Sora…)
Nomura also hopes to explain more about the whole "Birth by Sleep" concept as well as what Mickey was doing in the World of Darkness and how he acquired a Keyblade. Lastly, which I find to be the most interesting part of the interview, Nomura reveals that should this suggested project of his take off, it may be hard to determine where the game may end up in which he does mention the possibility of it being the "PSP", "DS", or even cellphone.
Would you buy the next Kingdom Hearts spinoff if it appeared on either the PSP or DS? Survey says yes since the series is ever so popular.

Packaged with Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix + is a second disc with a remake of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. After rushing through Kingdom Hearts II again, I started to play a Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories and its clearly the highlight of Final Mix +. Kingdom Hearts Re: CoM takes the entire GBA game and throws it in 3D with graphics from the first PS2 game. Like the Game Boy Advance release you move Sora around boxy rooms (now in 3D!) where heartless pop up for Sora to fight. Battles are a little different since Sora has an extra dimension to deal with. You have to get used to locking on enemies to keep the camera focused. Also you will get hit by that shadow heartless looming in the corner, hidden by the camera angle. Battles are more chaotic in Kingdom Hearts Re: CoM than the 2D battles, but if youre quick you can counter attacks with a higher card even if your attacker is invisible. Camera issues aside, Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories is a treat to play. It is a bonus for fans of the Kingdom Hearts series and they are the ones who are going to love the new presentation of the GBA game. You can see a video of how Soras journey begins in Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories and hear Donald Duck cast spells Japanese past the break.

I’m sure that plenty of you have seen the “special ending” in Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix + that probably has you scratching your head thinking “how does this fit into Kingdom Hearts?” Well it might not fit into “Kingdom Hearts” exactly because the next game is not Kingdom Hearts III. Instead Nomoura-san producer of the series said to Dengeki, “First, it’s not Kingdom Hearts III. Of course, because we’re calling it a ‘new’ series, it won’t be KHIII. Also, it’s a series, so it probably won’t be just one title.” So what could it be? Students of the Strange has a good theory that Kingdom Hearts is going the Fabula Novala Crystalis route by having multiple games set in one universe. Without spoiling too much about the Final Mix + ending, I’m guessing the next series could be a prequel to the whole Kingdom Hearts universe. Names aside who really cares what Square-Enix calls the next games? As long as the titles are fun to play the name shouldn’t matter much.

Their will not be any more KINGDOM HEARTS PS2 GAMES MADE. The producer of KH has made it final.
