When Tae wasn't looking Asad had sneaked away from their camp and off into the wild. He hated being cooped up in one place and since Tae was busy with something unimportant he had decided to do a little bit of scouting ahead. Perhaps he could find another cub? No... Tae had said most cubs stayed in their prides.... Oh well! He could still improve his skills for when he would be a big lion like Tae.

Glancing around to make sure no one was near, Asag dropped into a crouch and inched his way forward, in what he thought was a hunters crouch, but really it looked like he was trying to scratch his stomach or something of the sorts. Laughing to himself and leaped at a blade of grass crushing it beneath his paws. Standing up, he stalked off farther, pleased with himself.

Pawprints. They were all Ash saw as he made his way aimlessly through the desert. He had gone off to hunt and left Nadine to guard their den. Now that his tummy was full he was just walking around, spending some alone time with himself. He let out a huff of breath as he thought about what all had happened in the past few days. He had found a place where he belonged and was as happy as could be.
The aspect of leading a pride was getting to him though. He was starting to doubt himself. He shook his head as if to clear the memories out of his brain. He'd make a great pride leader, along side Nadine. He was just getting jitters with how real it was starting to sound.

His ears twitched as he heard a pouncing sound in the area a bit ahead of him. He lowered himself close to the ground and crouched up to some bushes. His ears were laid back and his tail was twitching. he didn't recognize the sent and wondered who or what was lurking around.

Sitting down Asad looked around again, bored of his previous game. He yawned and shook his head, trying to think of something to do. Deciding that nothing else was going to come to mind he started up one of his oldest games. He stood up as if in front of a large crowd and began giving orders to his 'subjects'. When he was satisfied that they were doing what they were supposed to he lept off in search of prey or intruders. He was so into his game that he didn't scent or hear Ash nearby.

Ash let out a tense breath as he saw that it was just a cub that had made the noises he heard earlier. He smiled as he watched the cub play. He relaxed a bit and began to wonder why such a small cub was out on it's own. Ash moved a bit and as he did so a twig snapped and the sound it made resounded through out the area.

Asad was in the middle of leaping at an 'intruder' when the twig snapped. Twisting in mid air out of fright he landed on his side. Dazed he blinked blearily and look around before shaking his head and getting up. What on earth had made that sound. Twitching his ears, he listened again but heard nothing. Carefully scenting the air he caught a whiff of something unfamiliar.
Curiousity overcame Asad's fear. What insolent intruder dare trespass on his land? His mind still focused on his game after the initial shock ended. Or maybe he had fallen on his head and lost his common sense. Whatever the reason he followed the trail to the bushes. Tail twitching, he peaked through and let out a mew of surprise and tumbled backwards. A full grown lion was behind them leaves!

Ash held back a laugh at the cubs reactions. "Are you alright?" He asked as he made his way out of the bushes. He smiled warmly, down at the cub, as if to say he meant no harm. "What is a little cub like you doing out here all alone?" Ash asked as he sat down in front of the little one.

Asad's first reaction was to flee the scene as soon as possible. For starters he was so embarrassed by his tumble. He was also terrified at finding a full grown lion watching him. Did he plan to eat him maybe?! His mind snapped out of imaginary world and back to reality when Ash spoke.
"I-I'm fine!" he managed to stammer up at Ash. "J-just a little s-startled!" The warmth he heard in the lions voice had calmed him down enough so that when he sat down in front of him he didn't try to bolt. "I can take care of myself! I always leave Tae to do what I want!"
