Just joined the guild...and didn't see this discussed yet so...

Has anyone gotten into Joe's solo work with the Mescalero's and what do you think about it?
I have all 3 albums and really enjoy the sound he's got going on. It's certainly not the clash, but it isn't bad music in the least. My favorite album is probably Streetcore. It's eerie how that whole album has this sense that he knew it was going to be his last. If you haven't heard it, listen with that in mind.

I have all the albums as well.
I think they're all very good, and true the sound is very different from that of The Clash but I really enjoyed it...Strummer had so much talent and I appreciate how he didn't limit himself, musicwise.

did you notice that some of their first albums, well not Give em enough rope, but The Clash and London Calling have some influences of the first wave of ska. their song, Rudie can't fail, is actually dedicated to the rude boys 3nodding

I've got all three. One of my favourites is "Bhindi Badgee" It's about food! Oh...there was this interview with Joe. He was prancing around the table telling how he came up with the song! It ....ah! Was too awesome mrgreen . What I'm really trying to get now is Earthquake Weather. I have a few songs from that album. Very really good. If any of you have a chance...you could check out "Gangsterville" on youtube. Very random and awesome. I suck at explaining things, I know. Then there's his Walker soundtrack. Very latin! I love it...from what I've heard anyway. But Scott...now he's hot. And Tymon is with them! It just makes sense that Tymon would be there. But anyway...speaking of food...I have dinner now.
