I am a major fan with Eragon and Eldest. And what do you think the third book is going to be called when it comes out this summer, and who do you think the third Rider is going to be? All I know is that the dragon is going to be green. xd

I saw the movie with my friend and afterwards she couldn't stop talking about how they(the movie people) had screwed EVERYTHING up. ^_^ It was really fun to listen to! But the books sound good from what I've heard.

I loved the books. My bookstore said the third one's coming out September 20.

The cover of the third one has Glaedr on the cover and it's called Brisinger. And the series is no longer a trilogy (old news, but in case you didn't know.....), there's going to be a fourth book because Paolini couldn't fit everything in one. It's still coming out next September. The fourth book will probably have the green dragon on the cover (I've read all the spoiler theories, so I'm pretty sure I know who the next rider is......)

TawnyDream

I'm kinda confused now.

They changed everything because Christopher Paolini couldn't make the third book just one book.

That's kinda lame...
If they say it's gonna be a trilogy, he should just make the book longer! or cut out some stuff! Something like that ><

I'd vote to make it longer. I love carrying huge books around. I get the most amazing looks...

I hadn't heard that, though. Now I really want to read the next book...

I read Eragon and I liked it alright. I found it was a little childish, and the writing was simplistic. Sometimes it was dull because of the writing.

I do have Eldest on my bookshelf, because I like coming of age fantasies. But I haven't found time to read it, since I keep getting distracted by other things. Do you recommend I make the time for it?

I do recommend that you read it, but just for the parts concerning Eragon. The parts about Roran are really boring. The parts concerning Eragon are amazing and worth the read! Especially the end.....As to your prior comment, it might seem childish or simplistic because it was written by a fifteen year old. I think it's a pretty impressive accomplishment. But I do agree with your comment. It's especially dull at the beginning, but the plot is what hooks you.

I agree with the fact that it's a great achievement, because I'm 14, it's just like woah.

Oh, and Christopher Paolini said on a video that the reason he's split it into four books is because when books start to go over 900 pages then they start to get boring, even though he is a fan of long books, but yeah that's why he didn't make them longer.

Yeah, 900 pages is a lot, especially for the audience the books are geared for. Most teenagers don't read often enough to finish it in a reasonable amount of time (yes, there are exceptions of course, me included) and consequently will get bored in the middle of reading it.

Thanks. I'll pack it on my long bus trip this spring. (Eragon traveled 15 thousand kilometers on a bus before it finally got read!)

I judge books based on the book, not the writer's age. So, to me, if it's childish at parts, his age is no excuse; if I'm going to read it, I want to enjoy it fully. But I'll give Paolini this: most books in that genre for that audience have a lot of childish writing and plotlines to them. For the type of book he was writing, he didn't do worse than most adult writers of the same genre.
