This is not only an art subforum, but also an art DISCUSSION subforum.
Let's talk about our favorite books/word things here, as I am a fervent believer that true art is expressable through the lovely or livid (or both) lives of linguistics.
You can talk about the most beautiful poem you read, or the book that you just finished, or the fanfic you read, whatever. As long as it's a mostly word thing.
As a possible topic starter, my favorite books include:
Peter and the Starcatchers (series) by Dave Barry and Ridley Pierson
Bloody Jack (series) by L.A. Meyer
Alanna (series) by Tamora Pierce
Crestomanci (series) by Diana Wynne Jones
Dealing with Dragons (series) by Patricia C. Wrede
Midnighters (series) by Scott Westerfield
Romeo and Juliet (play) by William Shakespeare
Inkheart (series) by Cornelia Funke
Artemis Fowl (series) by Eoin Colfer

yeah, it's hitler's book. i only have to read five pages. it's long and complicated, but that's how it worked out.

Talking on long and complicating books, Ive been reading The Voyage of the Beagle (Charles Darwin) on and of for years now. Has anyone gave it a try before?

I love adventure type books with a bit of science and I can read it for hours and then i just get stuck... my brain cant take anymore in. I start reading the same sentance over and over again. Pity its a brilliant story under it all. He is one of my favourate people.

I just finished reading Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine last night. I started Chasing Redbird by Sharon Creech, but it's not as goudah as I remembered it. Once I finish this one, I'm to begin Harriet the Spy by Louise Fitzhugh. Hopefully, I can finish all of those before the quarter ends and my pages of Mein Kompf are due.

I just finished a very beautiful book.

Near a Canal by Wheldon Curzon-Hobson

Its a great easy read, but It still makes you think. I made me want to fall in love again. I had to put it down at times to shake it all off. I really recomend it. Its full of hope and compassion and makes something that is normally writen about bleakly and grittly into something a little bit more.

I gave up on Mein Kampf after reading half of it.
I like how it's very raw and unedited but the run-on sentences and things kill me.
A very complicated book.
Beauty Queen, Go Ask Alice, Catcher in the Rye, All of Thomas Harris's books, and most zombie books are great to me.
The Voyage of the Beagle I thought was pretty interesting, but I never finished it. And now I think it got lost somewhere in my house. xd

that's real horrorshow

Two books I've been re-reading lately over and over again, to research on controversial themes.
The movies were done by the same director, the amazing Stanley Kubrick.

A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov

eh, droog?
