Hey guys, I hope you don't mind me posting yet another thread but I was watching the Naruto episodes yet again and I had to say something.
You ever notice that people say "Oh yeah when Naruto kicked Neji's a** in the Chunin Exam" and stuff like, "Naruto beat Neji good" Anything of that sort, do you guys know what I'm talking about?
Neji was beating the Hell out of Naruto until Naruto finally managed an underhand trick while using the Kyuubi's chakra. Ok? I'm not saying that Naruto sucks or anything, I'm just saying people act like he gave Neji a royal a** kicking, but it's not the case. >>

Kyuubi's power and Naruto's perseverence beat Neji.
However that was because Neji didn't finish him off immediately like we all know he could have. In a rematch Neji would win hands down, because he's too smart to give Naruto time to power up.

I think it was. I agree with you though. Some people can get way to excited over the fact that Naruto actually won against Neji after all of the bragging and taunting that Neji did before hand. I don't think that they take into consideration that Neji put up one hell of a fight and Naruto almost didn't win. If he didn't have the Kyuubi in him, Naruto never would have beaten him. I mean, I like Naruto and all, but he has twice as much chakra in him than everyone else does. Well, maybe not everyone, but you get what I mean. It's like he has back up chakra he can call on when his own runs low. No one else can do that! Well, except maybe Gaara and the other demon holders, but other than that, everyone else can only rely on their own chakra!

Naruto won by pure chance. If the fight was actually based off of skill Neji would have won hands down. But it turned into the let's play who has more chakra game. And Naruto would win against probably everyone else in that game every time.
It's just not fair.

I swear I love Neji as much as humanly possible, but I would give Naruto a bit more credit in that fight than everyone else has been.
Yes, Neji was totally kicking Naruto's a** right up until the end. Yes, Naruto's extra Kyuubi chakra is as unfair advantage. Yes, popping out of the ground like that was pretty underhanded. But I still think Naruto deserves some credit for the win. It wasn't all Kyuubi.
For one thing, when he kept getting back up after Neji knocked him on his a** he was running on his own chakra, not Kyuubi's. His perseverence and determination played a large part in the outcome.
For another, underhanded as popping out of the ground may be, they're ninja for cripe's sake! They're supposed to be sneaky and underhanded and take any advantage they can get. Also, it wasn't luck that he did that. Naruto has his moments of tactical brilliance, uncommon as they may be. I forgot my example right now, but I swear I had one. Lol.
So there's my two cents worth.

that's great, really, but just because you have determination it doesn't mean you can beat someone stronger than you by a thousand times. That's a fact. Neji was wining 99% during that fight but kishi has the nasty thing for making Naruto God modded when he has to do it.
You can't freaking dig a whole underground with your freaking hands in five ******** seconds. That's impossible, I would completely give Naruto credit if he was using the same jutsu Kakashi used when he was testing them, but he didn't. He did something that was completely humanly impossible.
Naruto was LOSING the WHOLE time he wasn't using Kyuubi, in fact he didn't even gain the upper hand when Kyuubi handed him his chakra, Neji was STILL winning.
That fight was the most pathetic fight in the whole Naruto series besides Shikamaru vs Hidan ( which was also pretty stupid).
Also another example maybe Gaara vs Naruto. "LOLZ! Naruto bat Garra! He lose!" ( typical n00b answer) Gaara had to fight with Sasuke, Sakura ( not much though...O_o; wink then Sasuke again and THEN GUESS who. Naruto! so mhmm...That fight was TOTALLY fair in every single aspect I'm sure of that! ( sarcasm. )
I am huge Gaara and Neji fan, and I'm tired of people saying that Naruto beat them or that he was the light of hope that changed them. if you ask my opinion that's a bunch of bull. and I can seriously probe that, I have done it like a thousand times in the ONT ( Official Naruto thread).

We'll just have to agree to disagree on this point, because I still think Naruto deserves at least a little bit of credit in both of the fight you cited. But I totally concede that without Kyuubi, Naruto wouldn've been totally owned years ago.

the people there should have given neji way more credit and didnt they notice his chackra?? neji should have just beaten him up. but anyway. i think that was enough to get both to pass the chunin exams! naruto has the power of a sannin! and neji is very mature for his age plus it was a cool fight!! o well ^^'
