I figured I would start a thread for people to propose the nations/factions they intend to bring into the new Guild.
PostPosted: Fri Feb 01, 2008 7:18 pm

Name: Mirai

Official Name: The Unified Empire (of the Mirai and Moriath)

Description: The Mirai nation occupies a single densely populated system or only one habitable planet (with a moon and other uninhabitable planets) near Rakata Prime. Its archeology and traditional architecture still bear the vestiges of its tenure as part of the Rakatan Infinite Empire.

The Mirai are largely isolationist and have, for several hundred years, made use of advance Subatomic Engineering and Manufacture to craft superior technology and materials. They have a highly militant society, but currently no desire to expand. However, this long peace has led to a considerable population and they are beginning to feel the pressures of overpopulation.

Name: The Terran "Alliance"
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Description: The Terrans are a people who seem to be in a constant state of civil war. Currently they are divided into three separate nations: the Third Terran Republic, the Terran Conglomerate, and the Terran Sovereignty. The initial peace between them was made upon a neutral planet Auraxis. Currently, it seems as if the peace is breaking apart.

Name: Third Terran Republic
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Description: The Third Terran Republic came into being after the Senate of the second Republic was destroyed. Behind the scenes the leader of Patria Nihilus, The Wanderer, is the one who constructed the down fall of the second Republic and controls things when the needs of PN become paramount. Other wise he leaves the Senate to take care of things by itself.

The core of the Third Republic's government is the Senate. Lead by The President of the Senate, who possesses executive authority, but the majority of his actions must be approved Senate, the most important of which are declarations of war and ratification of treaties with other galactic powers.

Senators are elected every 8 years and a President is selected every 4. Also, final power rest with The Wanderer. However his involvement in the daily activities of government are minimal due to his rule over PN and his diligence over his experiments.

Name: Terran Conglomerate
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Description: The Terran Conglomerate consists of those who have fled the Third Terran Republic. They feel that the traditions of old is the best support for the way of the future. Lead by the CDC who have taken flight to seek allies in their quest to restore power back to "true Terran hands." The Conglomerate is a wandering nation in search of allies to return home and a place to call home for the time being.

General James Braddock leads the Conglomerate as Chief Magistrate in an attempt to hold the wandering peoples together.

The civilian government of the Conglomerate consists of the Magistrorum, the Executorium, and the Tribunary. The Magistrorum is the legislative body of the Conglomerate. Magistrates are approved every year by Tribunes. The only exception to this is the Chief Magistrate, who is chosen by the Magistrates from amongst their number to serve for a six year term. Tribunes are elected directly by the Terran people in local elections of small districts held every other year. The Tribunes may make any Terran a Magistrate. Any law may be proposed to the Magistrorum by any Magistrate or the Tribunes on the whole or through legal action and the Executors may be directly proposed to the Chief Magistrate. However, any proposal may only be made once per month. The Executorium's only duty is to enforce laws among the civilian populace.

Name: Terran Sovereignty
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Description: The Sovereignty formed out of those who felt that true future of the Terran people lied in technology and "super science." They are lead by a mysterious figure known as the Sovereign.

Sounds interesting, DN. My only question is, do you plan to roleplay all three nations or are you hoping that other will take part?

Name: Black Fang

Description: A freelance Mercenary and Assassin company, The Black Fang has become the most prominent military organization in the Galaxy. Led by the legendary assassin Brendan Reed, the company has been in the employ of numerous clients, including high-ranking individuals in the (Galactic Federation) and the Terran nations.

Well, I know that DA is interested in the Sovereignty and I kind of assumed that you or DL would be interested in continuing to run the Conglomerate. I figured that we weren't just dismissing the Terrans completely and that way there is an "equal" force out there in comparison to Protectorate (or what ever form they will take this time around).

Also, we can use the Terrans to test out the combat system too, if everyone feels so inclined. (I'll give the Sovereignty tech once we get the tech rules fleshed out.)

I also think we should keep the Terrans, but I would prefer not to have to roleplay them myself. As much as possible I would like to focus on just the Mirai and make that 'my character'.

As for testing the combat system, my first thought had been to use some of the Mirai ships because I know those best so it'd be easy for me to put together their stats, but now I think that I would like to test the combat system using more traditional Star Wars vessels, TIE's and Star Destroyers and Corellian Corvettes. I'm also working on the format for posting stats and should have an example of that (using a Mirai ship) up by the end of tomorrow.

For Kuro, I would suggest that you provide some explanation for Black Fang becoming the 'most prominent military organization in the Galaxy' as I would think that the four major military powers you listed would have armies and navies of their own. That also does not account for the Sith or Jedi, who both are looking to be fairly well established in the new Guild. I also personally would prefer you not to say that Black Fang is employed by the Galactic Federation or any of the Terran Nations without the express permission of whomever is introducing that faction just as a courtesy to other players. I think it would be acceptable, however, to say that Black Fang has numerous clients in the Galactic Federation and the Terran Nations.

Name: The Holy Sith Empire
User Image

Description: For over twenty thousand years, the Sith have existed in some form or another. Their most recent incarnation came about slightly more than two hundred years ago. It was then that Darth Oblivion reformatted the order, abandoning the Rule of Two in favor of a caste system. After the deadly and stalemated Oblivion War, the Sith were pushed back to the Deep Core, and several planets spread throughout the galaxy that were either abandoned by the Galaxy or chose the Sith way of Life.
The Sith Empire is broken into regions, and each region has a capital planet (each with a capital city named, "Oblivistadt"). The planets in the region report the the capatial, and in turn the capital reports to the Imperial Capital, Erebus (Citadelle d'Oblivion), located in the Deep Core.

The Sith are careful to make sure all needs for the peolpe of their empire are taken care of. As such, they have practically eradicated disease and poverty on once third-Galaxy worlds. However, this lifestyle comes with a price- put politely, there are no jails in the Empire.

Sith Philosophy is as follows: The World (RE: creation) is dying. If things are allowed to progress as follows, the World will fall into darkness and everlasting death. To stop this, the old ways and systems must be eradicated to allow a new, glorious, and chaotic World to flourish under the guidance and patronage of the Sith.

Name: The Jedi Order

Description: The Jedi have a long and convoluted history, resulting in numerous changes from the original Jedi Order that served the Old Republic countless years ago. Scores of information has been destroyed. Numerous traditions and teachings have been lost. But those of the Knights of the Old Republic have remained somewhat intact. For the most part, these are the traditions and teachings that the current Order holds. However, this Order is not affiliated with any government. The Jedi of this era serve only the Force. Once again, they have taken on the role of guardians of peace and justice in the Galaxy without the interference of bureaucracy. The Jedi Council is located on Ossus, as is the Jedi Academy. Mon Calamari is also under Jedi control, used as an Industrial center to manufacture ships.

I actually need to develop that a bit more, but it's mostly because they're willing to do the dirty work that those governments arn't willing to dirty their hands with, namely assassination. The jedi probably wouldn't want to be associated with such a group at all, and the Sith will most likely hire the group some time durring the actual storyline. As for employed by over clients of, that was kinda a typo on my part. I meant clients. Sorry about that.

Name: The Galactic Federation

User Image

Description: In the wake of the Oblivion War, the Old Republic was utterly destroyed. For a while, there was galactic anarchy, with each planet fending for itself, or regions forming small states. Eventually, a movement started on Corellia for a new Galactic Power. The movement grew through prospect of fortune, or through militant action. Now, most of the galaxy has been put back into an order under the Galactic Federation.

Members of the Federation share the same military and economy, however, there is little else that binds them. Mostly, they make independent decisions, however, each planet has three representatives in the Galactic Senate. The Senate is then governed by the president of the Senate. The Executive branch answers to the Executor- head of all Military matters. And for Judicial affairs, there are forty Judicators.

Federal law supersedes Planetary law on all issues, but Planets are free to make laws undisclosed in the constitution.

While perhaps not as large as the Republic, the Federation is every bit as powerful and revered in the Galaxy.
