This roleplay begins on a mountain path. Despite being the only way to go directly thorough the mountains, it is hardly traveled. Most people go the longer way around the mountains, because it is safer. No one is sure exactly what- or who, lives in those mountains. But the threat of danger does not deter some...

Sightless grey eyes opened slowly. Their owner, a young female creature, was sleeping in a pine tree, about ten feet in the air. A small, white-furred rabbit creature was sitting on the girl's chest, and staring at her with wide, dark green eyes. One golden ear was lifted into the air, the other pressed against the creature's back. A delicate, slender hand lifted, and stroked the rabbit, and the other hand helped ease the girl up onto the limb in a sitting position. Seru closed her useless eyes, and rubbed her shoulder nubs, which ached in cold weather, and almost injured herself with the thick silver bangle on that wrist. She stood up unsteadily, yawning, lost her balance. The pair fell to the ground, Seru landing with a solid thunk, though she was merely winded. The Rabbit squealed in surprise, and had hidden inside the pouch on Seru's hip. She dusted herself off, then set to combing her short, wine-colored hair. After all, she was female, and she was vain. But only slightly.

Shisharen hadn't really been expecting to see anyone until she made it to the other side of the mountains, and even for quite a while beyond. She was simply expecting to be attacked. So she froze in suprise when she saw the girl sitting in the middle of the path. Her suprise only lasted a moment, shifting to wariness. She tightened her grip on the shaft of her weapon, shifting her wheight so she was ready to move. "Hello...?" She said quietly, waiting for the girl to notice her, and for her to either attack, or greet the paladin.

Seru tilted her head up, then asked, in the Rabbit's language, "What's speaking, Koro i'ida?" To a human, it wouldn't be audible. Koro i'ida climbed out of the pouch, and studied the person saying hello. The rabbit then relayed what was visually greeting her, and then went onto Seru's shoulder. Seru rose, then turned, keeping her eyes closed, and waved.
"Hello. Are you a fellow traveler?" she asked in her quiet voice that sounded like bells.

"Yes, I suppose." Shisharen said. She stepped forward slightly and lowered her guard the tiniest bit. "Which direction are you going?" She asked, curious if the girl was traveling the same way she was. "And what's a girl like you doing out here, unarmed? This place can be really dangerous, so I've heard."

"Just over them, to find what can be found. That way," Seru pointed north. Koro i'ida darted over to the new person, sniffed at her, then ran back to Seru, then to Shisharen again, this time standing on her hind legs, and tilting her head.
"She says who are you?" Seru translated. "And I'm not unarmed. Ifrit, my escort, is nearby, hunting at the moment." she added. It was true; Ifrit was nearby, but he wasn't hunting. He was watching.

"Oh, I'm Shisharen." She introduced herself quickly. Finally somewhat at ease, Shisharen relaxed her grip on her haleberd. "And you're going the same way as I am."

Seru relaxed, then finally opened her eyes. "Ifrit! Come to me, my friend. There's someone here to talk to!" she called to a nearby group of trees. Koro i'ida giggled, or so it seemed, then hopped up onto Shisharen's shoulderplate. She stuck her fuzzy, soft nose into Shisharen's ear as a male came out of said woods.
He had a sheathed blade, and a seemingly confident stride. His hair and eyes were orange, and focused on the two females with an odd tensity. Two black demon horns poked from his hair, which was spiked back, and he stood before them soon enough. He was very concious of his non-human feet. And his thin, whip-like tail. He nodded to Shisharen, then carefully examined Seru. "You fell out of the tree again," he accused. Seru blushed, then hit him over the head with a wrist covered in heavy silver. He yelped in pain, a flash of anger lighting his eyes. Then, he started to laugh, and ruffled her hair.

Shisharen nodded back to Ifrit and watched the interaction between the two with some amusement, until Koro i'ida stuck her nose into her ear. Then Shisharen yelped, leaping to the side in suprise. She grabbed the rabbit-like thing off of her shoulder and held it out in front of her, glaring at it. "Don't do that!" she said with a sigh of frusteration. "The last time I had an animal do that, it tried to eat me a second later."

The poor rabbit looked at her, then blinked, and began to wail. Both Seru and Ifrit collapsed, holding their ears. It was really high-pitched, and hurt. A lot.
Koro i'ida began to cry, much like a human, then kicked at the one who held her, and, if she got free, she would run. And take the good luck with her.

Suprised by the creatures wailing and struggles, Shisharen loosened her grip on the creature. She winced in pain, but somehow managed to not reach for her ears.

Hanne was shifting slowly out of his tree form when he heard a strange crying sound. Curious yet hesitant, he started toward the noise. He was cautious, since it could be a trap, but he could never resist a mystery. It got him into a lot of trouble, sometimes.

Koro i'ida, thrasing free, ran away from the group. She wasn't looking, just running. She was completely unaware of a pack of huge mountain wolves watching her. The little rabbit sat on her haunches, dabbing at her eyes with her front paws, and her little ears trembled.
Seru had passed out, her tolerance for pain far lower than Ifrit's. Ifrit stood, dusting himself off. "Now why'd ya have to go and scare of the lucky little blighter? Now we're as good as dead..." he growled at Shisharen. He was beginning to transform, and his skin greww itchy. He went to a tree, and rubbed his back against it like a bear, and his human skin simply peeled away, revealing him to be a fire hound. He trotted back, and snarled at Shisharen, but simply lie down beside Seru.

"I-I" Shisharen looked to the side, blushing and muttering apologies. "I'm sorry." She said miserably. "I didn't mean to..."

Hanne looked in suprise at th elittle rabbit that had run out in front of him. Was it- crying? He gasped in amasement, but then his Dryad nature kicked in. He simply took it in stride, and decided to comfort the little creature. "Hey... what's wrong?" He asked softly, kneeling down beside the bunny.

Ifrit rolled his shoulders, then used one of those long horns to itch his back. Then he flopped down again, and waited. Seru would wake up sooner or later.
"The scary lady yelled at me when I tried to cuddle!" the rabbit wailed, then hopped at Hanne. She was still crying, and the shadows were moving. But they weren't shadows. They were black wolves...Hungry black wolves.

Hanne petted the rabbit's head comforting. "It's okay." He said brightly. "She probably didn't mean it. Now..." He looked around nervously, seeing the wolves. "I think we need to move. I don't fancy being torn to kindling. It'll be safer on the path." In all honesty, Hanne thought that the path wasn't any safer. But he wouldn't say that to the rabbit he was holding.
