Gimme your opinions of how you think it will be. Think you'll play it?

I think I'll play it. I think I'll either be a soceress or a shaman. Leave it to me to gravitate toward the magic people, lol.

"For the first time, WAR's RvR system integrates both Player vs. Player (PvP) combat and Player vs. Environment (PvE) quests on the same map. Every aspect of the game, including PvE missions, is geared towards the greater war in some important way. However, players are not required to participate in PvP combat, and may aid in the RvR war effort and enjoy the game in its entirety via PvE content" from the official site

"Based on Games Workshop's popular Warhammer fantasy world. Dominated by force of arms and
magic, this world provides a rich setting for hundreds of thousands of players to experience the epic
nature of war and the glory of battle.

Join one of six Armies and fight for the Armies of Order (Dwarf, High Elf and Empire) or
the Armies of Destruction (Greenskin, Dark Elf, or Chaos). Wage war across three unique battlefronts.

Next generation Realm vs. Realm game system integrating both PvP combat and PvE quests on the
same map in support of the greater war.

Engage in four levels of RvR combat:

- Skirmishes: Incidental PvP combat
- Battlefields: Objective-based battles in the game world
- Scenarios: Instanced, point-based battles balanced with NPC Dogs of War
- Campaigns: The invasion of enemy lands culminating in the assault on their capital city

Undertake a wide variety of PvE quest types related to an army's war efforts, including:

- Public quests that benefit from the participation of the entire army
- Conflict quests that pit players against an enemy with opposing goals
- Branching quests that let you choose the outcome of the quest and your reward
- Xmas quests that reward exploration with high value loot

A robust combat system introduces Player Tactics (earned powers you equip prior to battle) and
Morale Skills (combat options that increase in power when the momentum of battle is in your favor).

Player models that change to reflect the relative power of a character (i.e., Orcs grow in size and
Dwarfs' beards get longer). Customizable armor and a visual guild system allow a player to make their
character truly unique. " also from the official site

I hope no one chooses Order that we know
twisted

pain awaits

I went ahead and applied. It does not look good graphics wise but if it is true that your beard grows or the orc's grow in size etc... That's something I have been really looking forward to in games. Something like that can really draw you into the game.

Either way its going to be interesting!

I hate when I hear the company's say, "We can change the map etc etc all in real time!" Yet when the game comes out they never even use it. Let alone find a good use for it.

Now if they can eventually say make your hair grow on a weekly basis. Or actually see your character get fatter or thiner based on your activities. There is an area that games really haven't started exploring yet.

I'm sure the guys would like to see their characters belly get nice and round by consuming beer! lol

I really just think they need to add a more diverse set of skills in games. Like a run skill or a jump skill (See Asherons Call) so that your character can truly be a custom thing. I really think each character only having so many skill points is a thing of the past. Where are the characters where you can gain skill by doing simple things.

For instance. I used to play text based games (MUD's). Some of the coolest things in those games still have yet to hit todays games. Where's the "Hide" skill where you can try and hide from an enemy and ambush them and actually get better at it by just doing it more and more often. (Referring to the Dragonrealms game) How about the more you use a weapon the better at it you get? How about a crafting system where you can design literally the look of your weapon.

How about weapons that don't have numbers attached to them. No plus this and that. How about you have to take them to a weapon smith (player ran or NPC) pay a fee (or have a friend) appraise it. Or heck appraise it yourself. The more you look and guess a price the better at it you get?

Hopefully someone will someday see the potential that is out there and put it to some good use.

Sorry for rambling but there are games already out there that your beard grows or simple things like that. Its not really a new thing. Just a newly implemented thing. Too bad its all on text based games.

I keep hearing the people at Play.net (Dragonrealms creators) are making a Game called Hero's Journey. From what I've seen it looks good. Hope they actually get it right like in DR.

There are a few games in gamings past that have promised a lot & haven't delivered.

The problem is that they speak so openly about "how revolutionary" or "how industry changing" their games will be & it never is what they say. My main example of that is Fable. For over 2yrs, Peter Molyneaux bragged & hyped up Fable into what was impossible.

If you're going to talk the talk, back it up & deliver it

I may have to choose order, because their uniforms look like those of the Landsknecht, and I don't think I can resist that.

However, I do love being green...

I hear you there! I was in the text for a while, and I had a better RP experience than I ever have in any other game... my character's favorite food was smoked eels... I was an instructor for Paladin initiates... I got drunk at Issy's wedding... that just doesn't happen in WoW...
