I'm not joking, anyone that knows how to talk to a spirit can talk to a deity, you don't have to be anyone special to talk to them. and i will prove it, i will show you the proper way to be able to talk to any deitei of your choice assuming they have something to say to you.

now for your first time you may want to do it in a circle, as it's a more formal invite, and since you're probably not used to talking to deiteis you want to be sure you get the right spirit.

then as far as talking to spirits, well that isn't too hard.

as fara as getting them to talk with you, you may need a reason to get them to talk to you or you may not.

the only real requirement is don't freak out when they approach and don't think you're some sort of ******** prophet once they do contact you.

you may get a spirit delivering a message to them and such, it;'s also a good place to start, but by simple politeness and diplomacy and levelheadedness you can talk to your higher power just like any other spirit. as for the toher details, well if i give you all the info then i'd be doing all the work, if i told you everything they would be less likely to show themselves as they want to see you do the work before they give you the reward so to speak.

That's it. it's nothing special you just need focus and concentration.

Ummm I thinking talking to a Deity is so much more and so much less than what you described. Most of the time Gods/desses speak to us in dreams and meditations. While it is possible to talk to any Deity, most of the time it is easier when you have studied and searched and probably put yourself out there and found your Patron or Matron whichever you chose God or Goddess. For instance mine is Elen, and it is easy for me to contact her through simple meditation and visualization. Now for a Deity that is not your Matron or Patron, you need to do a bit more to contact that particular Power, if they are not one you already Worship or use in Ritual/Spell work. You might want to do some research on that particular Deity, find their personalty and traits so that you have a focus point to start your search. It also doesn't hurt if you have some items sacred to that particular Deity. For instance if you were trying to contact Ma'at or her Greek counterpart Themis, it would not hurt to have some feathers about, a blindfold or better yet and old fashion scale, all sacred items of the Deity of Divine Justice.

It is also VERY important to remember INTENT. Simply sitting in a circle and meditating, open yourself up to Otherworld can be very dangerous. There ARE malevolent entities out there, or a God or Goddess whom you would not want to attract unprepared. I.E. Loki a trickster God who plays tricks on even those Dedicated to Him so who knows would He would do to the Uninitiated.

If you are looking for a Patron God or Goddess or even your Spirit Guide, or Totem Animal, cast your circle, and Ward the Quarters. Ground and Center yourself, and then simply send out a message to Otherworld. Let it be known that you feel you are ready to Dedicate yourself to a particular Deity. You may not be answered right then, your Deity may still feel you aren't ready, but now that you are actively searching for Him or Her, they will make themselves known to you. And when it is time to Dedicate yourself to Him or Her, they will let you know how this can be brought about.

As for the creator of this article. My dear if you are going to tell someone to do something, please don't half a** it. It is dangerous. You could have someone contacting something they don't understand and cannot handle. It is irresponsible. Its like asking a child to give you a paper, but not giving them any guidelines or a subject, you simply don't know what you are going to get, and when working with Otherworld, Spirits and Deities that simply is not acceptable.
