I have experienced a censorship of the words "Church of Scientology" and the acronym "Co$" from my profile three different times now. The words stay in my comment bubble for a day or so...then mysteriously vanished. Contact with the mods and the admins have assured me that the Gaia staff is not involved.
When I attempted to make threads asking for information about the incident, I was bombarded by pop-ups and my internet died a rather horrible death. I may just be paranoid, but between this and the fact that my profile has been mysteriously changed so many times, I can only assume my IP address has been found. :/ Not really difficult to do, I suppose.
The mods suggested someone may have my password, but this doesn't appear to be the case. The alternative is...well...rather frightening to say the least.
I am not a hacker nor involved in any of the illegal activities of Anonymous, but I think this makes me an easy target. The thread to this discussion can be found below. Anyone else experience something similar?

EDIT: Great news, everyone. Nothing nefarious was involved. That's right, no conspiracy. It was an as yet unannounced glitch in the site itself. ^__^ No worries! Back to the issues. :'D

I was expecting this, but not this soon... It appears matters have left our hands. Our strategy may be forced to change from a defensive one to one of attack. The Gaia mods/admins are either lying or ignorant of these happenings. We need to find out which one it is, and fast. The latter could temporarily provide us with powerful allies, until the Co$ takes away their modship.

One is someone I've known since I started Gaia four years ago. The others are moderators I've met and spoken to throughout the years here.

XD I have full confidence in those I've contacted. They don't have an opinion one way or the other on Chanology, but they don't like suspicious people messing with Gaia.

I don't know if they'll necessarily be against Co$, but they will not let them compromise the integrity of the site. Until Gaia is taken over by the $cienos (anyone see that coming? lol ), the TOS stands.

The Co$ isn't going to take over Gaia. They will, however, pay Gaia enough money to give them the authority to screw the TOS and control information flow on the site.
Tell your mod friends to watch their steps around the Co$. They're not beyond stripping someone of their mod/admin status.

Just stand strong, guys. After the 10th, people are going to have to take notice. Their internet intimidation won't mean jack when old media covers it.

They've been known to slap old media people with frivolous lawsuits to get them to stop reporting on the Co$, but even the Co$ can't do that many lawsuits at once.
