What: Kakkoi!Con
When: August 1st - August 3rd.
Cost: $65 for hotel for the weekend ($65 is the most expensive, it may be $60 depending on what the tax actually works out to be. I will update this when I am sure)

We are accepting requests for staying with us and we want everybody to be aware of the following information. Anybody staying with us is now considered a member of our Team.

We want everyone to have a safe and fun convention experience. If you have any concerns or suggestions, let us know.

You can PM me or Emily, give Emily a call. Don’t hesitate. It’s better to ask a simple question that seems silly than to not ask it at all.

Boys currently registered in our rooms: 6
Joel, Brian, Dareick, Mukong, Steve, Charlie

Girls currently registered in our rooms: 8
Jenni, Emily, Kari, Lynn, Patty, Jordyn, Maggie, Annie

Room Break outs:
Room 1:
Brian
Dareick
Mukong
Charlie
Steve
with roll away bed

Room 2:
Annie
Patty
Jordyn
Kari

Room 3:
Joel
Jenni
Emily
Maggie

Logistics and Rules:
0. Act selflessly when it comes to decisions you make. This is the most important rule and expectation of all regarding this. You need to consider everybody else when you’re deciding whether you should or should not do something. If everybody acts selflessly towards the other members of our team

1. Rooms have 2 Double Beds. We expect four to five people per room. Sleeping arrangements for the rooms are traditionally 2 people per bed, plus one more person on the floor. If there is a position of a floor-sleeper, room-mates need to come together and work out who sleeps there what nights.

2. The rooms are non-smoking rooms. Smoking in them is not permitted

3. The rooms are separated by gender. This is a logistic, but more importantly it is a rule. Remember that this is a team effort and everybody is coming together to be with everybody else for the sake of the anime convention and not to sleep in a co-ed room. Sometimes co-ed rooms are necessary to cut down on costs for staying at hotels, but this is not the case. Some people just aren’t comfortable (whether minor or not) with co-ed rooms. Minors will be staying in the rooms and we do not want to put anyone in an uncomfortable situation. For some members, this may be their first time staying in a hotel in a group setting. If you have a problem with this rule, please address the issue before the con as there will be no refunds given to people who "change [their] mind".
We are planning on having a party/hangout room available. Anyone will be able to hang out in this room, but not to spend the night in it. This room will also most likely be the check-in point when the dealer’s room is closed.

4. You cannot invite people to crash or store their things without permission from Emily, Joel or Jenni. You should consider that the room you’re staying in is like your own home, so do not invite unpermitted guests to crash for the night, or even to store their stuff. We do not want you to be liable for somebody else’s things. YOU are paying to stay in the room. Unpermitted guests are not. Whether or not you think YOUR payment goes to pay for UG’s staying, the other inhabitants of your room probably do not feel the same way. This is a safety issue as much as it is a security issue. We will do what we can to accommodate requests, but we need to know who is in the rooms, and whose stuff is around. This is a safety issue as much as it is a security issue. This is for everyone's safety and personal belongings protection.

5. Curfews: We know that Anime Detour is a never ending party for its set duration, however it is expected of you to act responsibly.
Age 18 or still in high school: We need to know where you are and your plans between 10pm and 6am. To aid us in this process, we will have designated check-in times between 10pm and 6am that are mandatory. Also, we would like you to hang out with a buddy you know between these times.
Ages 16-17: you will need to be in the rooms between 2 am and 6 am.
Ages 15 or younger: you will need to be in the rooms between 12am and 6am.
These times may shift a little depending on the mix we get. There will also be some negotiating room if you are going to be with our group or with one of our team leaders. More information on this will become available to you as the date draws nearer.

6. Communication devices are required in case of an emergency. It has become necessary that we enforce this communication rule. Everybody under the age of 18 will be required to have a cell phone turned on and kept with them at all times during the convention. Therefore, all minors must remember to bring their cell phone chargers. If a minor has no cell phone, they are required to either borrow one from the leader head or get a walkie talkie from the leader head.
Minor or not, on Sunday, everybody must have their communication devices on to receive transmissions regarding their stuff being under our care. Likewise, our staff will always have their cell phones on.

7. Alcohol is not permitted in our rooms! Other substances (drugs, cigarettes, etc) are not allowed! Do not bring them in with you! We recommend not drinking period to avoid confusion. The check-in times will also be accompanied by a member of our staff inspecting the rooms to be sure everything is in order.

8. You are required to eat at least 1 good meal a day. We don't want anyone getting ill. You must arrange meal plans ahead of time. The hotel has very expensive food, so it is recommended that you bring some food from home to eat otherwise consider the price of food when considering how to spend your Anime Detour Budget. Do not plan to live off of the con suite - right off the bat this year, there will be 3,000 people. If you yourself are thinking about only eating meals only in the con suite, think about how many more people are probably thinking the same thing.

9. Pre-registration is required. In order to stay with us, you must have been pre-registered or made prior arrangements with us. If you have not yet registered, maybe you should reconsider staying in our hotel room.

10. You will need to find your own transportation on Friday, and back home on Sunday evening. If you need transporation, either way, let us know AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!! DO NOT spring it on us the weekend of the convention!! We will have to plan for the correct amount of space. We cannot stress enough how important this is!!! If you need a ride to or from the convention and you have not yet received confirmation from your parents or whoever it is giving you a ride as of today or 07/20/2008 (whichever is first), you NEED to be persistent until you get a solid and firm YES!!! If you do not have a ride home on Sunday, we may have issues helping!

11. Sunday. We will get kicked out of the hotel rooms at 11am on Sunday. We will put people's luggage in our vehicles.
However we will have to bundle up our product and load our cars up for the trip home. We need your luggage out of the car by 5pm in order for us to load up our vehicles.

If you have any questions let us know.
We will work to clarify and rectify any concerns you may have.

Sweeeeeeet.....
I'll prolly be able to go then. ^^
Still need some prices though, for room and board. ^^

The room price will probably be between $60 and $70 for the weekend. It is a little more expensive than Detour. I need to look up the room prices again, but I think they are $130 a night, divided by the number of people in the room.

You will have to get your own food. We suggest going shopping and bringing food with you to the con.

I just noticed that the entire first post calls Kakkoicon, Detour.

...

Is that intentional? XDD.

Anyways, Tessa and I are going, so mark down "Sakari Setsuya" and "Setsukatoya". XD ^^

Charlie, are you planning on staying with us, or are you going to arrange your own room?

Also, Dareick, have you decided yet?
