The Western Gate that serves as one entrance or exit into and out of the village. Orochimaru has imbued some of his best barrier jutsu into these gates, and thus it makes it hard for a low-level shinobi to just shunshin inside

Yuro came running through the gate from the Castle of Sound and continued running at full pace towards the valley that led to Leaf Village. {{exit}}

Masao entered following Soren. He nearly got the thing down or so he believed. He hoped he was doing it right.

Soren stopped in his steps and looked back at Masao. "Will the wind to lift you." he said, keeping a close eye on him. If he really was getting the basics then that meant he might levitate half a centimeter above the ground in his next few steps. Of course for the basics down that was all you needed. Hopefully he could keep his concentration up.

Masao didn't give an sign that he heard but he began imagining himself floating like soren did and when he appealed this thought to the wind he felt himself floating with in the next seconds. He felt a jubliant feeling but he countined to concentrate on what he was doing. It didn't last very long. He dipped and fell to the ground landing on back. "Ow! I seem to keep getting hurt today!"

"Of course." Soren said shrugging. "This is training after all. You got much higher off the ground than I thought you might." He mused over this for a minute or two. "But if you don't know how to Cloud Run then don't try going that high again."

"Well this shouldn't be bad. But now comes the hard part if you feel up to it." he said with a slightly sadistic edge.

"Good Boy!." Soren said happily, though they really weren't that much older. "You're got to try and do that same thing but running!" Smiling deviously he crouched down next to Masao. "This is a lot harder. It's not even how the style is down. You're building up slight platforms of air to stand on, it only accomplishes having you run your same speed just a little, little bit above the ground. Useless in combat since you get none of the advantages but all of the disadvantages."

Masao bit his bottom lip," Okay. I think I know how to do that." He closed his eyes and asked the flowing wind to perform a thin platform for him to run on. The wind complied to his wish flowing towards Soren as it did.
Masao quickly stepped on the platform of wind and ran as fast as he could along it's path. As he reached Soren the wind cracked and Masao fell to the ground and stumbled a bit. He looked up at Soren, "Did I do it right?"

Soren stared at Masao for a long time. It was like he was staring through him. "Do you know how long that took me to do?" he asked in a combination of surprise and irritation. "A month and a half. At this rate you'll finish the step by the end of the day.... Want to move to the next step or would you like to make sure you've got this down?"

Masao flinched hearing the irritation,"Is it bad? That I could get it done in that time? I-I'm sorry. Um...if you don't mind I'll continue working on this one? What would you suggest...Sensei?"

"I suggest crossing your legs and mediating." Soren said in a huff. Of all things he wasn't about to admit that he enjoyed being called 'Sensei'. If you had told him or his brother that was a title they would one day go by when they were children then they would have laughed... Now look at where they were.
