This is the Estate of the Second Lord Kusakage, Makahashi Himo. It has not been lived in, or used, since he retired and left to travel the world. Large cast iron gates surround the grounds on which the estate is built. Himo owns many acres of land, which contain several training grounds amidst the natural beauty of bamboo fields.
The Estate had once served as the Kuskakge's office and headquarters and also functioned as the Meeting Place for all Grass Country meetings. Now, with Himo back as Lord Kusakage, the Estate has once again been opened to serve as his office and headquarters. With the dissolving of the Grass Country Council and the creation of Military rule, the estate also serves as the Meeting Place of the Hidden Grass Council.

Ryoku sat in silence at the Makahashi Estate. It had become silent since the Exams started. Since then, she had been researching strong ninja's in various villages that might prove to be useful as members of the Hidden Grass Council. "There are some great prospective candidates" she whispered to herself as she flipped through the pages of various books. Suddenly she ran across someone quite interesting. "Tsubaya Jinsoku," she whispered as she read through his profile intently. "He seems like a good candidate. Let's see....he's from the Twilight Village. That isn't too far, but...I'll have to travel through various countries." She stood up and shut the book quietly with a flick of her chakra hand and walked towards the door.

himo sat quietly at his desk, in the central chamber of his estate. Paperwork had been piled carefully to one side of his desk and journals and other documents stacked neatly on the other side. His back was facing his desk now, as he gazed through one window and looked across the southern portion of his country and village. In his youth he had dreamt of ruling the country; not just the village, but the whole country. Now, several years later, his dream was realized, but he had no idea the work would be this intense. He sighed as he turned back to his desk and pulled a sheet of paper from the top of one stack. "Very interesting," he whispered to himself as he placed the sheet of paper down on his desk once more. He leaned back in his chair to look at the ceiling. For several mintues, he just gazed at the ceiling until a knock came at the door. "Enter" he said as he straightened himself up. "Why hijima, to what do I owe this call?"
Hijima entered slowly, shutting the door behind him. He bowed to the Kusakage before approaching the desk. "You sent for me, sir," Hijima responded.
"That's right, I nearly forgot." He sighed a little. " I need you to find "Doubutsu" for me. I need to speak with her."
"Yes sir," hijima said as he headed for the door.

A knock came to the door of the Kusakage's office, that caused him to swivel around in his chair. "Enter," he said as he straightened up the stack of paperwork. "Ah, good to see you again, Ryoku," he said as Ryoku, followed by Jinsoku, entered into the office. "I take it you must be Tsubaya Jinsoku," he said standing to shake the foreigners hand.
Jinsoku took the Kage's hand warmly and shook it. "Indeed I am," he said in response to the Kage's previous question. "I look forward to serving you and your country, but if you will excuse me, I must send a letter to the Twilight Kage informing him of my safe arrival."
"Of course of course," Himo said, taking a seat once again. "Please come see me once you have accomplished your task. I wish to speak with you further."
"As you wish," Jinsoku said as he turned to leave.

Jinsoku walked through the mansion and found a nice little balcony on the second floor. He stood there and gazed out across the land. It was different here, than in the Twilight Village. the air was warmer and the grass was softer. The river's were so pure and trickled gently on their way. Without thought, jinsoku bit his thumb, mad a few handseals and placed his hand on the rail of the balcony. As the smoke dissipated a large butterfly was all that remained; fluttering just above the railing. "I need you to deliver a message for me," Jinsoku siad, addressing the butterfly.
"As you wish," the butterfly responded.
"Inform the Twilight Kage that I have made it safely to the Hidden Grass Village. The Cloud village is still as heavily protected as we feared, and guarding against them, would be very difficult, though not impossible. I will do what I can to strengthen the alliance of Grass and Twilight while I am here and will report to you again soon."
"Is that all," the butterfly asked. "Alright then. I'm on my way." and with that, the butterfly took off for the Twilight Village.
Jinsoku sighed and turned from the balcony and headed for the office down below.

Himo poured tea into a cup and sipped some gently before speaking. "Would you like some tea," he asked Ryoku as he set his cup down on the table.
"No thank you," Ryoku responded from behind her face mask.
"So Ryoku, I have to ask," Himo asked as he sipped his tea in regular intervals. "Have you found a third member for the hidden Grass Council?"
"Well, as you know, Tsubaya Jinsoku and the Higurekage both agreed to lend us a hand, so we only have need for one more member, but that is where the problem is."
"I see, I see. Please go on."
"I have looked through our records of ninja still living and I have yet to find anyone from our own village suitable for the task." She sighed. "Our records f ninja from other villages is not yet complete so that makes the task even harder for me."
Jinsoku slipped into the room quietly and took a seat next to Ryoku.
"Glad you could join us Jinsoku," himo said, offering him a cup of tea silently. Jinsoku passed on the tea. "How do you like our country so far?"
"It is a very lovely place," he responded warmly. "Even more lovely than what I remember of it."
"Ryoku and I were just discussing the fourth member of our council, or the third member of your team. As you know, I am the Lord of this land and the Hidden Grass Council along with me make the decisions for this country, as such, we need it to be balanced. That is why we gave the invitation for you to join. Do you have any ideas as to who should make up the last of our council?"
"Unfortunately, Lord Kusakage, I have no ideas as of yet." Jinsoku sat straight up in his seat. "Up until a few weeks ago, I was only a shinobi of the Hidden Twilight and as such, everything that is going on is new to me. At this time, i wish to just sit back and observe and let the choice be yours.
"Well said," Himo nodded to Jinsoku. "Have you ever heard of the Jumon clan," he asked aloud.
"I have not," Jinsoku replied.
'You can't be serious, Lord Kusakage," Ryoku responded. "They are but a myth, aren't they?"

"The Jumon are a clan that was seperated from the rest of our village in much the same way that Uchiha clan of old was kept under close watch by Konoha," himo began. "They are powerful clan that came into existance hear in Kusagakure many decades ago when I was first made Kusakage. It was at that time that the Elders of the Country decided to seclude them in the southern part of our village and built a large wall all around them. Their abilities rival that of the Shin clan in Otogakure. The Shin clan use instruments to amplify sound waves and to play melodies that have adverse effects on their team members. In much the same way, the Jumon use their voices to cause harmful and powerful effects on their foes.
"So they do exist," Ryoku said in disbelief. "If what you say is true, then why should we now allow them out of their seclusion. Their must have been a good reason why they were seperated from the rest of us."
"And there must have been a good reason why I allowed you rto be the leading member of this council and allow your family to enter our academy after what happened with your son Naoshi," Himo countered. "In fact, the Jumon clan still exists and have taught their family the ways of the ninja in their seclusion. Of course, I allowed this against the will and knowledge of the Elders. I have kept in close contact with the Head of their Clan and I believe she would make a fine addition to our Council. Any objections to this motion?"
"Whatever our wish is," Jinsoku replied.
"i agree with Jinsoku," Ryoku said. "We will abide by whatever your wish is, but I do not agree with this decision."
'Then the matter is now settled," Himo said rising from his chair and turning to gaze out his window. His eyes rested on a wall in the south. "I will go and meet personally with their clan and offer the position personally. Change is coming, can you feel it on the wind? You will remain here until I return."
Himo turned and walked out of his office, the door shutting gently behind him. He made his way out of the mansion and through the village to the Jumon Estate.

Masami stared at the large gates before her, wondering if she should enter without an escort or explicit permission; she had so rarely visited the Kusakage's estate, as he had more often chosen to instead make use of the Receiving House in the Jumon compound when he wished to speak with her. While she did not really consider him her friend, she was aware that he considered her his, and so she was doubly uncertain of which course of action to take, as being too aloof or formal could be taken as a rather nasty slight. She stood by the gates anyway, as her mind settled on erring to the side of formality, perfectly poised, but ready in any case to defend herself.

Himo looked out of his window silently, gazing out across the land. A smile erupted from his face as he saw Masami standing at the gate. Doubt had filled his mind as he left the Jumon Estate a few days earlier, so seeing his associate standing at the front gate brought ease to his troubled mind. He turned to face his other associates. "Jinsoku, we have a guest," he said, his face beaming. "Would you please go down and greet her, and bring her to this conference?"
Jinsoku's face went rigid. "As you wish, Kusakage-sama," he said rigidly. He turned to leave the room. My charm failed on Ryoku, but maybe this is a chance to redeem myself he though to himself as he walked through the halls of the manor. He walked silently down the stairs, out of the front door and down the dirt path that lead to the front gate. Smiling, he opened the gate and bowed to the woman. "It is a pleasure to make your aquaintance," he said, rising from his bow. "I am Tsubaya Jinsoku of the Hidden Grass Council. I was sent by Kusakage-sama to escort you to the Conference."

Masami's expression of neutrality and composure did not change as she, too, bowed politely, the minimum distance. "Jumon Masami recently appointed to the Council," she stated. She didn't say that it was a pleasure, because, frankly, she did not care at the moment. She did recall her own visit to Higuregakure no Sato nearly fifteen years ago, when her third of the generation had been judged ready to make their rounds throughout the Elemental Continent, to reinforce their own history as traveling storytellers, historians, entertainers, and musicians, as well as her chorus's training in information gathering, observation, and a score of other skills useful to the Jumon. After all, information was always useful to have, no matter if it was only that the neighbor's mother's aunt's cat had picked a fight with the blood-feuding clan across the village's favored son's second cousin's new puppy. She eyed the Twilight nin critically, but added no further comments to her introduction, instead glancing pointedly behind him in the direction of the manor, her destination.

She's more rigid than Ryoku is...just my luck Jinsoku thought to himself as he stpped to the side. "After you," he said politely, ushering Masami down the dirt path towards the manor.

Masami's lips twitched slightly, in a gesture that might mean smothered laughter, as she walked through the gates and down the path, angling her body slightly so as to keep Jinsoku at least within her peripheral vision, humming under her breath in mild agitation.

Jinsoku listened to the humming quietly and followed Masami into the manor. "The Office is up the stairs and all the way at the end of the hall on the right," Jinsoku said as he waited at the foot of the staircase.

Masami nodded her thanks and motioned for him to ascend the stairs first, still humming, her voice interacting with the walls to produce a faint sound reminiscent of a distant swarm of angry bees.

Jinsoku ascended the stairs, leading Masami as it were, to the Conference. If he weren't so entranced with her humming, he could sear that it sounded like they were being attacked by angry bees from all around, but he dismissed this thought.
