The Internet and You:
Have you failed at it?
Have you failed at it?
Well, I'm going to go ahead and guess that you're all wondering what in the name of flying demonic mothballs this has to do with anything? Being an utter failure at writing fiction, let alone anything with dialogue, I have turned my scope to non-fiction; in this case, the internet. At the moment, I am finishing laying out some sketches (Appendix 1) for a book that I do truly hope to write concerning online retardation, in short.
By this I do not mean mentally deficient persons attempting to use the internet, but I refer to John Gabriel's Greater Internet ******** Theory (by Penny Arcade). That is, an otherwise normal person, when given total anonymity and an audience, shall quickly deteriorate into a babbling fool.
What I hope to illustrate in this book (with a bit of dry humour) is basically what is appropriate for various situations online, what else isn't and how to recognise these distinctions. I also aim to place a spotlight on the underlying causes for these trends (general electronic stupidity).
So, what I ask is for only your opinions on the premise: does the concept interest you; do any aspects need refinement; does the very idea seem to you a hackneyed and asinine premise? In short, any comments (preferably literate and expressing a complete thought) are welcomed. I'm just looking to get some feedback on this before I go out and write a few hundred pages.
Regards,
Kazemuki
