So, apparently, dogs are now a diabetics best friend as well.

Researchers have shown that dogs might be able to sniff out the early signs of hypoglycemia, or low blood sugars.

Wow! I love it! It would be very helpful for ones with diabetes so that hypoglycemia itself can be prevented. I also love dogs (and have one). What are your thoughts?

I've heard of that before. I was supposed to get my dog trained to go that but never did. As the person who said she would hook me up with the person never did....
It's not too surprising as dogs can sniff out other problems. Some have been known to sniff out cancer.

Kinda along the same lines. Although it was really obvious my dog knew that I had dka [after diagnosis] and she wouldn't leave me alone untill I left for the hospital. I pushed her away too.

I also think it depends on the dog and if they would be willing to do it. I would think it would be best if you trained a dog that was bonded to you.
