What do you think of this law suggestion? What things about it would you change? How do you think Witches such as us may help to bring this idea into fruition?

Honestly, it seems to me that most of that would be covered by the First Amendment (spelling? o.O).

I do believe the constitution and existing laws cover most of those. However, religious acceptance is something we still fight for. I think that would be best done by acts of public service to show people that we are good, kind, and concious of the needs of our communities.

That could be true, but people are going to think what they want to no matter what. So even if a bunch of witches got together and did some sort of charity event and generally contributed to the community in a beneficial way, if someone was really determined to believe witches are bad or whatever, they're going to believe it. Honestly, I don't find I have a problem with religious acceptance. Everyone I know (and who knows about my religion choice) is fine with it and they all know I'm still the same me I was several years ago.

i think that's a good idea, although most of it sounds like it's already protected...
I didn't really agree with the part that teenagers could send in a report to the court about it, because then what about the older people? And if so, there would be numerous cases of people just getting "payback" and hundreds of essays would pour in...
Overall, i think it's good though.

Blessed Be.

So what happens when people stay out of politics? (notice, I say people I'm adressing everyone and mean no offense) A smaller group of people have the control and the power because no one else is paying attention.

(Just a reminder if your in the U.S. that voting day is nearing. Please vote if you can)

I think that it is all already covered in laws, that there are many flaws that would sanction illeagal activity, and that you can't change entire nations. the KKK, Hitler's army, Aryans United and other such organizations will still exsit, and do what they have done for centuries. and note, this was not an intended attack against you, sorry if it's precieved that way, just simply facts.

Darth Shiny says:

That's true. "Witches' Rights" are already protected under religious freedom, and any acceptance further than that is going to have to be a matter of people doing the accepting of others and not changing laws to try to force them to do so...

It seems that a lot of what they go over is all ready in place to protect religous rights. And maybe the idea of a teenager submitting an essay to a court is a good idea, it just depends on where you live and the tolerence level.

I have to agree, I think the first amendment covers it. I believe that Wiccans are sometimes misunderstood by other religions and people might base their opinions of what they think to be true, not what they know, and that's where all the problems come from.
