Okay first off I know your thinking not another one but this time I think I may have cracked open something here. So bear with me.
Last night I was talking with a mate and he was going over SSBM when he had a gamecube (I never owned a gamecube just played meele at mates houses) anyways I said its wierd how a big Nintendo brand (Animal Crossing) has a level but no playabe character and he agreed. He then mentioned that theres a while until the Animal Crossing Wii game comes out and I thought I clicked onto something.
Maybe some secret secret characters are set to be avalible at certain dates (going by the Wii Internal clock) like on some games. But then he mentioned something about Luigis mansion and Pikmin saves unlocked tropheys on Meele. So maybe a defult setup has been placed so when the game finds Animal Crossing (and possibly other games) that you get the chance to unlock new characters and items.
What do you think possible or to indepth?

It's possible... however I think that characters will all be unlockable in regular gameplay... Nintendo isn't THAT mean. However i'm sure they'll throw in trophys for the few games they may do this with.... Just not characters sweatdrop

Well it's more unfair to those who can`t afford many games (Though I can xd ) and as such it would be cruel almost to make you pay 50$ to get 1 new character..,

In this topic: MAJOR DENIALThere is a very small chance for downloadable characters (which would cost money) but all the normal characters have been unlocked. Why? People have already cracked the game. All they found was leftover data for melee characters, Dixie Kong, and Toon Zelda/Shiek. So even if by the impossible chance the 'Super secret' character theory was true, It would have to be them, there is no data for anyone else. EDIT: Masahiro Sakurai The most important thing was simply whether or not it would make players happy. I mean, there are lots of popular games with characters that just aren’t meant for fighting and were too hard to incorporate into the Smash Bros. title. Heading the list of these characters are the ones from the games we just mentioned, Nintendogs and Animal Crossing. Because these are games played by lots of people, I knew players would be happy to see them make an appearance. This is why I wanted to find a way to put them in the game and why they became Assist Trophies. straight from the man himself: http://us.wii.com/iwata_asks/ssbb/vol5_page2.jsp

I think that would be a good idea to have characters unlockable by game data! I thim=nk it would be better to have them on expansion packs or something but its still a good idea!

One of the characters that is currently believed to be a possible downloadable characters is doctor mario. Even more interesting is that one of the first game for wiiWare is a doctor mario game. Do you think that Dr. Mario might be used as a promotional thing for getting people to download the game? Like, "download the new doctor mario wiiware game and get a free doctor Mario character for brawl".

It's not about being able to make it... It's about being able to make the unique and interesting. Seriously, what would you have done? Furniture throw would just be another throw move like Dedede/Olimar/Peach. You could fish, but that would be like like every other tether move. You could use a hatchet... Nope, just like either the Hammers or any of the other swords in the game. A shovel, that might have been interesting...
Oh, and if people don't already know, Knuckles and Tails can be seen running the loop in the back of Green Hill Zone. Sorry guys, they're out.
As Icestorm said, if there were extra characters, they'd have been found already. People have cracked open the disc and analyzed the files. There are a few garbage files that won't likely turn out to be more than just that. I'm not getting my hopes up for any downloadable characters. Seriously, why must we always demand more? Shortly after the initial shock of a 35 character roster is one thing, but it's been almost a week. Get used to it. You'd be surprised just how different each "clone" really plays.

Okay but what if some games come out with Bonus content that you download from the disk being extra characters as a thank you. It is possible and shouldnt be rulled out. It just seems wierd that we were not amazed at any of the characters that were "secret"

LeeStar1988 It just seems wierd that we were not amazed at any of the characters that were "secret" I think the reason for that is that Sakurai made a small mistake when he reviled all the cool newcomers on the Dojo. If we were just now learning of Snake, Sonic, Red, and/or Dedede, I think no one would complain about the roster. Instead all of them are already here and the only ones we are learning of now is returning Veterans and So-So Newcomers. (No offense to ROB or Toon Link fans.)

Well when they were first shown i think almost everyone was angry about ROB.
