I figured I had to make a thread dedicated to trumpets, because others had done so with their instrument.

I figure cause this is a marching guild talk about marching trumpet. Stuff.

I just wanted to know--to get the talkin flowin here
-how many trumpets you march
-how young have you marched
-how is your leading divided (section leaders, captains etc)
-what chair are you in marching as opposed to concert if youre in both.
-ever had a band relationship (you know what I mean... mrgreen )
-had do you do your water breaks?

That last one is because after a new school, our water routine totally flipped inside out backwards and from marching terms to germ or slav or something.

-how many trumpets you march
This year, six
next year, six or five

-how young have you marched
eighth only

-how is your leading divided (section leaders, captains etc)
(ordered lowest to highest)
lowerclassmen, have no say, cant talk, cant give direction, cant give rules or inflict pushups, cant march well etc.
upperclassmen get first choice, and get to lead the underclassmen, they are below section leader
The player who displays the best leaderships skills, the hardest worker and the best player is the section leader, the leader of anyone who plays that instrument, whether it be 2 instruments or 12
Above them, we have captains, four of those, wind captain, brass, colorguard, and percussion which you have to audition for.
Then assistant drum major then drum major

-what chair are you in marching as opposed to concert if youre in both.
first in both

-ever had a band relationship (you know what I mean... icon_mrgreen.gif )
Almost did a couple of times, had a relationship with a band groupie

-had do you do your water breaks?
force the two burliest guys in band to carry the jugs everyday, across the feild, while the director drives to the feild with his truck loaded with percussion. Then the two second burliest guys carry them back.
We are doing something different next season now that we have a band room to go to!

i'm in concert and marching band.i haven't marched trumpet cuz i'm in guard but we got water every 30 min to an hr or a little longer i've played trumpet for 4 yrs but b4 i played french horn woot woot uh we have section leaders 4 the trumpets oh and in concert band i play 2nd or 3rd trumpet idk wat else u asked buit o well ninja dramallama

this year there's ten of us. it's to many if you ask me but...

-how young have you marched

in parades since 7th grade and at half time this will be my senior year crying

-how is your leading divided (section leaders, captains etc)

we have squad leaders in marching band and section leader's in cocert. (but it's always the same people) I'm one this year.

-what chair are you in marching as opposed to concert if youre in both.

I'm secound in both

Yes, and it's wonderful whee I hate that he's graduated but he promises to come back for football games, that and his mom takes care of the uniforms so he'll be there. heart

-how do you do your water breaks?

a senior drives the water up a truck and we make a mad dash to them and lazily return to the field after the field commander yells at us to get up.
