I found this out recently. Apparently, you will no longer be able to choose as custom charater "class" i.e Barbarian, ninja etc Instead, it will all be decided by the type of clothes and voice your Custom character is wearing. What do you think of this idea. I personally dont like it. But i'd like to see more opinions. I also hate the fact that Vader and Yoda are gonna make apperances. How the heck did the disigners decide that they "fit" into soulcalibur. confused

Hmm... I don't like the way that sounds. I mean, what if I want a character to look a certain way, but that dictates a fighting style that I don't want?
Oh well; I'm sure Namco will make it work somehow.

i agree with blasio, i would rather have a specific weapon style that i want instead of it being dictated by the clothes i put on the character, i thought that the light/dark & passive/aggressive roles of the clothes was fine... none of the guest characters really fit with the sc universe... except maybe heihachi and that is only because he is from the same game as yoshimitsu but he still has buffering that is way to strict for me to figure out, i was never a fan of the tekken series, and when they put heihachi into the game they should have given him buffering on par with the other characters

I have to agree that Link and Spawn didn't also fit in with the soul calibur series as well. So what's to keep them from putting in the Star Wars characters too, its their choice wether we like it or not. confused
That whole custom character thing sounds kind of ridiculous.......i like the III system, but they need to add in a bunch of new stuff like new voice clips, body types and clothes..>.> and better skin tones too. stare

(wind affiliated voice 1 line)

well, the biggest problem of bringing lightsabers into the game is wouldn't they cut through everything? How do you block a ******** lightsaber!? Maybe Soul Edge would just regrow itself, and Soul Calibur probably could stand it's ground, but for regular swords like Mitsurugi's, you're going to be tasting laser.

YEah I hate the fact that Vader and Yoda are on the next one, and I also hate that Talim, Kilik, and Xauinga have not been confirmed. I haven't seen them at all...
But what is keeping me in for this game is the graphics, and the detail, and knowing that the play is different... and bigger...

I'm guessing that for the Lightsaber thing, they are going to take off that "cut through everything" feature unless its in cutscense. That's how I think it's going to work, unless Namco themselves, plan on telling us what's up.

rachte i really dont' know wat to tell u guy's but it's alright 4 me but yeah da creat a cheracter suck's but i like the online the best The online feature of SC IV is complete garbage, Namco-Bandai should've worked at it more; with laggy servers and poor matching systems it is by far one of the poorest gaming experiences I've ever had. I can't even enjoy myself because of these problems. In anycase, as for the custom characters, it actually played nicely for the game. The depth into creating the custom characters was far beyond what SC III, and the detail into creating you're character and leveling them up was quite ingenious (IMO). Still, I wish they had a Chronicles of the Blade as another add-on to the fourth game.
