Okay personaly i don't have a problem with them for OTHER stories (like SOME HP and LOTR) but ...IZ? how and why? i raed one that was really good but it still made me go " ...why?" at the end...yea....so if you people want to write your love for them or your absolute loathing for them...go ahead...just follow rules and all

Well..I'm not sure sweatdrop .I read them, but I'm not really sure what the attraction to them would be. However, I mainly read the ZADR fics, so that's a pretty big factor, for me at least.

I hate fanfics that put Irkens/SIRS with humans. No. Just...just no. talk2hand
And unfortunately, practically every IZ fanfic is about some sort of romance like that. The ones with Zim and Dib make me laugh though. I think people don't understand they HATE each other. Yes, it works with Harry/Malfoy, but not Zim/Dib.

I'm a serious lurker on Fanfiction.Net's Zim archives. I've read most of them at least once (well, the good ones, anyway). I prefer the humour fanfics, though I read enough of the romance and angst fics. The best Zim angst fics out there are GIR-centric angst fics. You'd be surprised at how well GIR can/could angst about things.
As far as romance pairings go, I don't mind the yaoi/yori fics, but they need to have a decent plot to support them. I refuse to read a fanfic that reads like the script to a porn movie. I find it horribly wrong for whatever reason. Also, you really can't pair Zim with anybody, including Tak - Irkens don't have the gear to get it on.

Well, I really like the IZ fanfiction...tis all I really read anymore fanfiction-wise. Or write, fanficiton-wise, for that matter XD
Sadly, there is absolutely no fluff in my fics....or wait, maybe that's a good thing? Mwahahhaaaaa...
I'd link it, buuut, I don't feel like scarring anyone's minds today.

I don't usually have a problem, but an IZ fan fic would have to be very well written. Almost like they would have to tap into Jhonan's brain to make it good. Like ElvikinValitori said, most of them end with me asking myself, "Why?". So yea, they just have to be good ones.

It has the same effect all other fanfiction has to me, which usually means I recieve a very "What the heck?" reaction towards it. Especially the romance, even more so the slash. I just don't get it.

I hate ZADR. It just seems wrong. HOWEVER, I thrive on ZAGR. (not gir) But they have to be in character. I don't want Gaz to feel fluffy inside. And I don't want zim fluffy inside. Almost like they are in love, but they hate it. Something like that. I also read a DAGR, mostly cause I was bored. I found one and it made me laugh. Yeah, Im not reading another one of those! But I LOVE Zim and Gaz together. I don't know why. cool

Lately, I have been spending most of my time on fanfiction.net, reading ZADR just for laughs. I think that fanfics are pretty much alright when you need to have a plot relating to Zim/Dib/Gaz/GIR/any of the other characters and you've already burnt through the DVD collection... I am actually a fanfic writer and actually dedicate a lot of my time to reading/writing fanfics...

There are actually some stories that sound that they could be in the show 3nodding But it's only some, and you have to look long and hard to find them confused One of the best fanfictions for Invader Zim that I think could have been a big success if it were made into an episode would have probably been Dib in Wonderland. 3nodding It was expertly written, and it had the same craziness and type of dialogue as found in the series. It's probably my favorite of all that I've read heart
And also what you have to remember is that even though Jhonen does not actually read many of the stories, he thinks it's a wonderful thing that something he created is inspiring people to write, to draw, and is acting as a little battery for the imaginations of hundreds of thousands of people 3nodding And, it is true, the Invader Zim category is one of the biggest categories on FanFiction.Net sweatdrop

You're telling me? The list of M rated fics alone runs to at least fifteen pages of links, man! It took me a whole damn MONTH to run through all 160-something pages of the Zim archive! There's definitely a lot of good stuff and bad out there, and it takes a lot of Internet time to find it all.
I like the idea of Zim and the crew meeting up with alien species from other games or canons. I play the old X-COM games a lot, and I made an entire fictitious empire for them. My master series, Wave Motion (not yet released), has Zim and Company fighting against the X-COM alien empire.

I have read many of the Invader Zim fanfictions 3nodding It's the joy of finding a story that sounds exactly like a script from the show that's really fun xd For instance, the best one I've seen thus far, that I think could've been highly successful if it had been turned into an episode, was the parody/humor fic, Dib in Wonderland. Dib follows the path of Alice as he chases Zim through Wonderland, who's playing the white rabbit, in order to gather just that much more information on him. Dib meets some very surprising chracters including his sister as the Queen of Hearts, Gir as the Mad Hatter, Miss Bitters as the Catepillar, and Jhonen himself as the Chesire Cat. The author got the feel for the storylines of Invader Zim, and managed to master the art of tongue-in-cheek insanity. 3nodding
