The only disaster was before I got diagnosed and they said I was like a few days away from falling in to a coma.
Other than that, i've ben doing really well, i'm lucky too. I try really hard to keep my BS under 120, and since i've gotten out of the Hospital I haven't gone in to the 400's
(and most of the time when i go in to like 300 its because my Insulin went bad, or I was really sick) :3

The only other "disaster" I have, is when i'm trying to give myself a shot with teh pen of epic win. And someone bumps in to me.

I've had a few close ones I guess.
I was at a friends party at a carnival. My bloodsugar was 11.0 mmol, I didn't think it was dropping or anything. So we got the others. The mom took me to eat and we were waiting for the food when my vision started to blur and everything went fuzzy. So I quickly grabbed a drink [sugar] and sat down. A few seconds later I was feeling a lot better. xp

I got really sick in gym class and threw up and passed out and my blood was 29. And I was helped into the nurses office where i suffered until about noon and my gym class was first period around 8am. It was a horrible experience, the nurse wasnt even a real nurse i think because she kept asking me what to do and of course i was kinda out of it lol

I have two moments that stick out in my mind distinctively. The first is when I was going through my rebellious/denial stage and wouldn't take care of myself. I went to the movies with my best friend and when I got out of the car, started power puking in the road. But I didn't go home and ended sleeping in the movie theater bathroom because I couldn't keep down water. By the time I was home, I had nothing left in me and my friend went with me to the hospital. My sugars were over 700. To top it off, they wanted x-rays and the tech guy was really hot. I was so out of it that I guess I started really flirting with him. He sent me flowers later.
The other thing that I remember wasn't really bad, but more upsetting. I was a district tennis and felt really shaking. So in between an even match, I got a drink of a gatorade. The other team freaked out on me because you are only supposed to get a drink during odd matches. They went as far as telling their coach that I was pretending to be diabetic, and he turned around and told my coaches that I was a fake! I was not very happy, but we kick their butts and went to state.

I had 2 events in which I was seriously off.
The first one was when I first was diagnosed with it. I had a blood sugar of 850, and I think a few days from a coma. I kept losing weight without under eating and I was always thirsty. When I got back from the hospital a week later, my boyfriend at that time, Alex, had told Mrs. Trzyna that I was absent because I was diagnosed with diabetes and was in the hospital. Their food is pretty good. wink
The next one was when I was in 7th grade. I felt a little low during lunch, because I had to wait for my friend and I had to go upstairs, causing me to lose some more sugars. My vision was starting to blur. I asked my friend and the teacher in the room if I could have a cookie or something sweet. Then, I was feeling better.
Diabetes is annoying. =[

Never really had a disaster but some upsetting moments like when my friends said not to dose because they were uncomfortable with needles. it really bugged and i was so hurt i left and forgot to dose! i ended up fainting and taken to the nurse. my friends still ask me not to dose when their around but i ignore them now. it still hurts when ppl act rude and scared when they see my site.

I am not a diabetic but my husband is. I sometimes wish it was the other way around cuz it kills me to watch him suffer and not be able to help. He has had many disasters. I have seen him have to seizures from being to low. one was just recently and he bit off a chuck of his tongue and popped multiple blood vessels in his eyes. He has also died and been revived twice when I wasn't around. Very scary.

I have had a few of the same disaster lol. I was away at camp both times this happened. One was, ironically, Diabetes camp. I ended up dropping to 40mg/l and I could not keep it above 60 no matter what I ate and I did not bolus at all. In other words, I gave no insulin. I was scared silly. I ended up taking glucagon and I finally got back up to 100mg/l but I did not go above 150 for the next week lol. I have the records to prove it.

I've never passed out before. Guess I'm lucky?
Although, when my Japanese class went to Japan and we were in Chinatown, I got a low. And I told my friend about it, and she responded by asking Japanese people for sugar, even though there was a soda machine right by her. X3 I know soda's not the best thing for a low, but we were about to eat in thirty minutes.

A few days after I got home from the hospital, my cousin was in town visiting, and I never ate breakfast or lunch, or even drank anything, because we were on the couch talking for like 6 hours.
Anyways, after she left, I started getting sick, couldn't walk straight, felt cold & shakey, an INTENSE migraine came on, and my BG was like 3.8/68. I had NO pop in the house, no juice, no candy, not even a bag of sugar. We hadn't gone grocery shopping yet!, and I was home alone!!.
I quickly threw some bread in my mouth, and went to lie down. I was beyond dizzy and nauseous, I passed out, took me about 15 hours to feel semi-normal. Scary scary experience. I always make sure to have a bottle of pop in the house now.
