Does anyone do any lampworking? I'm interested in taking a class for small lampworking and wanted to know how you like it. If you do or know someone who does, please tell me a bit about your experience!

I love lampworking, making beads. I honestly haven't done it in forever because I do not own the equipment, but it is really fun. It takes some time to get used too (like basically everything), I made a bracelt out of my first beads, everything is lopsided and the colors don't match, but I still love it. I took lessons from someone in Kentucky, it was in her basment so it was a more personal experience than going to a big class. I'm not sure where you live, but I think any class you can take is worth the time. If nothing else it will introduce you to a new craft blaugh

I think the last time I really saw someone making bead with glass, they were using a Bunsen burner to heat up the glass. Then again she was the best chemistry teacher in the whole school!

You're lucky that you had your own personal lessons!

I'm taking a class right now, actually. It's a 5 week workshop, and I just had my third class tonight. It's pretty fun, but it's taking me a while to get the hang of it. Most of my beads are pretty lopsided, and my designs come out looking like poo, but I like the uniqueness of each item.
We learned how to make swirly, spiral stringers tonight, and the one I made ended up being about 2 feet long. It was crazy, and I'm totally impressed with myself for being able to do it. xp
