At his own height, Kamui shone brilliantly, the purple and red hues of the sunset turning his own body into a filter of that light; but when night finally fell, he would shine as a beacon, heralding his presence to anything with eyes. Finding his odd glow undesirable and unfortunate in the dark, attracting all sorts of predators and odd characters, Kamui was now seeking refuge in the forest, feet traversing the crunching grass as he went deeper and deeper inward. Kamui's tall antlers knocked icicles hanging from trees as he passed, and each shatter sent him sprinting forward a few paces, for some reason, feeling that being alone in the forest was leaving him vunerable.
Ducking past more low-hanging branches, Kamui now found himself in a cozy clearing shielded from fierce winds by thick firs and low bushes and boulders covered with moss to present the perfect place to pass the night. Kamui smiled at his new nature-made foretress, and exhaled a heavy sigh of peace. His haunches sank down to the chilly grass, and he then stretched until his belly and front legs laid on the ground, which soon warmed slightly under him. Resting his head on his paws, Kamui watched the only real entrance or exit to his hollow sleepily, waiting for night to come.
