Personality: The only child in his family, Dan was always the ambitous one, with the drive to accomplish anything. Outgoing and cheerful, he embraced life and met every challenge head-on. With the support of family and friends, you might think that Dan was invincible. Not so anymore, as he's trapped under Team Rocket's thumb. Trying every possible moment to escape, he still manages to complete the tasks set before him by the Rockets. His only friend in this new world is John, an undercover Pokemon Ranger captured by Team Rocket and forced into Grunt work, his main job taking care of "Hybrid 118". The two have become great friends in their struggle against an entire corporation.
Character History: Dan was a simple sort, coming from a low-middle class family living on the outskirts of Rustboro City in Hoenn. A typical day consisted of attending the Trainer's school, then volunteering as a janitor and electrician at the Rustboro Gym.
Dan didn't plan on doing much in life, finishing school, and either becoming an employee at Devon or a trainer at the Gym. His family knew the Stones, and Roxanne was like the big sister he never had. But on a fateful day, a ship, full of captured Rock-type Pokemon from the Sinnoh region, such as Cranidos, stopped for a layover and visit to the Rustboro Gym. While everyone was mulling over the Pokemon, Dan was assigned to muck out the ship's cargo hold, to make it more pleasant for the eventual trip to a research center on South Mandarin Island. After a long shift, Dan fell asleep, resting near a caged Sheildon.
His awakening wasn't a pleasant one. Electricity coursed through his veins, and he smashed his head against the steel bars. A Pachirisu laughed audibly at him from the Sheildon's cage. Finally wandering updeck, Dan looked out as the ship docked at South Mandarin. Trying to look for a way home, he couldn't help but notice that the Electic squirrel was following him. Soon, Dan got word of a fancy get-together at a museum up at the north end of the island. Certainly somebody there had a boat to get him home...
Hybrid Story: Dan didn't have a Pokemon of his own, what would some Sinnoh Pokemon with no trainer hurt? Declining to keep it in a Pokeball, so it could leave him if it ever wanted, he let the Pachirisu pretty much have free roam. Upon arriving at the museum, Dan was astounded at the enormity of the place. There were things EVERYWHERE! But what they were... It was laughable. He'd seen rarer things on the wall in his room! There wasn't anything worth a second look. Patting the Pachirisu on his shoulder, Dan told it that they'd only stay long enough for the opening ceremonies, then try to look for someone that might be able to get them home. Asking for a list of museum managers and benefactors, he nearly got his skull bashed in by a creepy-looking guard near the reception counter. It as then that Dan started becoming more than a little afraid. He was sure that he'd circled the same fake statue for the fourth time.
That was when the building purged into darkness. everywhere was blockaded and guarded heavily. It seemd that nobody was going to leave without a fight. Pachirisu's cheeks provided a faint glow, just enough for Dan to avoid running into anything. A few Aurora Beams shot in the distance lured him toward the West Wing. A girl and her Dewgong were fighting a losing battle against a pack of guards. A stray beam froze Dan's arm to a glass case. If there was nowhere to run before, now there wasn't even anywhere to hide. He urged the Electric Pokemon to make a run for it, but the Pachirisu stayed right where it was. Watching, he saw the girl and her Pokemon trapped under a net, then knocked unconsious and carried off. Before he could yell at her to fight on, a cloth wrapped around his face, and he fell into a deep slumber.
 It seemed like only moments before Dan's eyes opened, and he wondered drunkenly about his surroundings - wherever he was. A glass tube, filled with some liquid he assumed to be water, high above a bunch of machinery that he could only guess as to the use. Besides the tubes, he could only make out the dim shapes of a couple figures moving around in the room. In the other tubes...twelve, including his? He wasn't exactly sure, some of them were through a large doorway, but there were only about six in this room. Strange, people-shaped figures filled the tubes. To his left, he saw a girl, with green appendages, sticking from her head and hindside, and tall tan ears, ending in green. She was the image of a Leafeon. Continuing clockwise, he saw ones that looked like a ... Charizard, Umbreon, Kingdra... and exactly to te right of him, the girl combined with a Dewgong. A tear came to his eye as he realized that she wouldn't be here...like this, if he'd acted. But there wasn't much time for that. The tanks containing the Dewgong girl and the Kingdra boy were being drained, and carted away by men in...were those Team Aqua uniforms? Realizing something, he reached up to his face and felt a strange oxygen mask. Noticing the wires running down his arm, Dan checked himself out. Running a hand over his naked body, he seemed alright...until he reached the top of his head. There were points sticking ut the top...like horns. Feleling a little lower, he realized he no longer had normal ears...these things on top were his new ones. His elbow hit something else. A fluffy white tail... with blue spikes... Dan's eyes welled. He was a monster.
The next few days, he seemed to be the only one awake. One by one, the Charizard and Leafeon were carted off, only to be replaced by new ones, looking like a Pikachu and Arcanine. But the worst was on one of the selection days, when a Team Rocket Admin paused in front of his tank. At least, from the descriptions he had heard about Team Rocket. The voices were muffled, but his new, enhanced hearing picked up most of the conversation as the Admin called the main scientist over.
"I've seen this one here almost every time. Why has nobody decided to buy him yet?" The Rocket questioned.
"Ah, Number 118." The scientist told him. "Very weak. That Pachirisu with him was not at a high level at all, I'd almost assume it was wild. We never sent out an invite to this boy, either. He just showed up, so we used him. He didn't put up much of a fight, our men found him in the West Wing when we captured a Dewgong girl, he seemed to have been hit by a stray Ice Beam. He's not very strong, but he'll grow, especially with all the trouble you've been having with Team Aqua lately."
"Yes...they HAVE been a thorn in our side recently..." The Rocket member gazed up at Dan thoughtfully. Dan wanted to cover himself, he felt very exposed, but the cords impeded his movement. It was then that he first noticed the metal braclet around his right leg.
"Ah yes, I'll let you have some of THOSE, too." The scientist smiled. "We had to put it on him, to drain his electrical energy. Otherwise, our machines would short-circut. I'm sure you could find some use for it."
"Not bad...let's discuss a price." Dan's eyes bulged. They were treating him like some kind of item in a department store! How!? He needed to be normal again! And find Pachirisu and a way home!
