The "Everywhere Else" in Cosmo Canyon. This includes the following:
Cosmo Canyon - The Town The original town as seen and visited in the original FFVII is also to be RPed here in this thread.
Assembly Hall and Executive Chamber Located underground in a large, cavernous room connecting to most of the AVALANCHE living quarters, the assembly hall is titled that merely because this is where the organization gathers whenever its members are called upon. It is nothing more than an expansive cave with level ground and enough room to seat a hundred, and squeeze in twice as many when standing.
The Executive Chamber is located directly behind the Assembly Hall, and is furnished lavishly with up-to-date technology and many other comforts. This is the main meeting room for the core members of the AVALANCHE organization.
AVALANCHER Living Quarters Although much of this area has fallen into disuse and decay, the greater part of it has recently been cleaned out and refurbished to include the basic minimums of human comfort. These chambers are also built into the earth, tunneling deep into the unlevel ridges and rises of the canyon with much of their illumination being strictly faulty wiring and candlelight.
Though it is obvious that once upon a time the rooms were shared with more than one person, the smaller numbers now allow for one room per person.
AR Training Facility and Shipment/Cargo Holds Self-explanatory. This includes the sections allocated for the training of troops, sparring matches, etc. In addition, the storage sections for cargo and of utility/transport vehicles is also located here. Along with the former, there are various hidden entrances and exits that allow for unnoticed movement of troops and cargo to and from the underground HQ.

The sun had only set four or five hours ago in Cosmo Canyon, despite the morning sun rising in Midgar. The time, though it was only nine or ten, was unknown to the young girl as she sat, alone, upon one of the many steps carved into the cliffs of the village. Her face was contemplative, though her hands were busy playing with the purple scarf wrapped around her neck. Though the weather never really called for a scarf in Cosmo Canyon, she never seemed to get hot in it.
Her light boots thumped quietly against the steps as she bounced them up and down, feeling rather restless and unnerved about her decision a few years back at joining AVALANCHE. Surely, it was what she wanted... But they did not tell her anything she wanted to know. She could not tell whether she was being lied to and felt as if her questions were being avoided like a taboo. Green eyes traveled away from her scarf to the great fire many stories below. It was a beautiful fire. She didn't remember it ever going out. She hoped it never would.
Though the canyon would seemingly be quiet, it was always filled with music and voices, whether they laugh or speak with serious tones or just filled with countless stories of gossip. She enjoyed it, feeling as though the silence would overwhelm her and drive her insane. She bit her lower lip, wondering when her fellow AVALANCHERs would return.
She always seemed to be left behind.

{[I had to pick a color that was so close to so many other peoples... o.o' And I take so long to post D-]}
Kyota let out a content sigh as he exited the lab. He had no problems with technology, no problem using it and no problems letting it make his life easier so long as it didn't cause massive problems in the future. He was just glad to be back out into the sunlight. Maybe it was like finally getting free. With his message to the Ravens sent out and the supplies being gathered he had a little bit of free time. Not a whole lot, but enough for him to stretch his legs at the very least. So he'd locked the back wheels on his AT's, effectively reducing them to regular two-wheeled in-line skates, and taken the chance to go for a walk.
He smiled as he looked around the place. It was so much different than Midgar, either part of it. The fresh air, the fire that never seemed to die. The place had a majestic feel to it. Maybe that was just him though. Eventually his eyes came to rest on a figure sitting alone on the stairs that were carved into the cliff, apparently lost in her own world.
He wondered why she was sitting all alone. He was new to the area and hadn't gotten to know everyone yet so maybe it was something that she did frequently? Well only one way to find out.
'Walking' up the stairs, as much as he could with his ATs on anyway, Kyota made his way up to the woman and smiled. "Hey, what's up?" he asked in as friendly a voice as he could muster, which in his own opinion was a very friendly voice indeed.

Startled out of her thoughts, the girl, who really wasn't much of a "woman" at all, turned her attention to Kyota. She had never seen him before, which was awfully strange since she was always examining newcomers in Cosmo Canyon. But then again, there were a lot of awfully strange people entering the Canyon...which bothered her, since no one in AVALANCHE would explain to her who they were or what they were doing here. But this male, strange as he was, seemed pretty nice. And, being the trusting person she was, she smiled in return.
"Hello," she said cheerfully. "Haven't seen you around before... New to the canyon, right?" She sat up a little, paying closer attention so she wouldn't drift back into her thoughts. She had, however, somewhat the question of 'what's up', mainly because there really wasn't anything 'up'. A light breeze came through, moving her scarf slightly over her shoulder, but she ignored it. Instead, her attention was drawn to his strange footwear.
"...What are those?" she asked, furrowing her brow slightly. She, of course, always got the same sort of questions when she had her parasol out. 'What's that? What's it for? What's it do? Why is it metal? Where did you get it? You made it?!' But she didn't need it at the moment. It was at home. It was for battle. Not for show.

Cheerful. That was good. For a second he'd been worried that she would just throw him down the stairs. The image of him bouncing down played out in his mind. Not a pretty one, that was for sure.
He winced slightly as she asked if he was new. "That obvious?" he asked jokingly. He doubted it was anything to do with the way he walked or spoke. Maybe she'd just been in Cosmo Canyon for awhile? After all, if she knew the people there then a new person would stick out like a sore thumb. "These..." he said as he picked up his right foot with a slight grin, "are called Air Trecks. You could think of them as a... motor powered roller blades. Something my dad cooked up a few years ago, kinda grew found of them."
He sat down on the step he'd been standing on and looked up at the sky. "Its so much different here than it was in Midgar..." he glanced over and wondered why she was wearing that scarf. Maybe a scar? Or sentimental value, like his ATs? Well, only one way to find out really. "So, did you make that scarf?"

"Oh, no... Bugenhagen made it for me when I was smaller. Before he died." She had looked down at the scarf nostalgically, a half smile on her face, and then she looked back up at the man. "It doesn't do anything special like your air trecks probably do, but it's got a lot of memories in it."
The purple haired girl looked out over Cosmo Canyon, as Kyota was. "It is very different. I've only been to Midgar once." She bit her lower lip, hoping no one around other than Kyota could hear, but saying what she wanted anyway. "Honestly?" she said in a quiet voice, "I kind of like it. It's a good junk yard." But she didn't even think that this could have offended Kyota, so she didn't apologize for her rude opinion.
Junk yards for Setra were like Heaven. She could create a whole boat load of things with all the crap in them.
She had, however, learned her lesson to be more careful in them... At least in Midgar. But that was a story for another time, because Setra didn't particularly like that story. She felt it made her seem weak or careless... Two of which she was neither. Mistakes happened.

Kyota smiled a bit as he listened to her explain that Bugenhagen had made the scarf for her. He'd heard of the man before and although he didn't know him he could understand why she looked down at the scarf nostalgically with a bit of a smile before resuming the conversation.
When she said that she liked Midgar Kyota smiled slightly. It was surprising to hear. He'd have figured that everyone hated it since it was so closely linked to Shinra. Or was in his mind, anyway. It made his blood boil, even if they'd been disbanded. But that wasn't something he wanted to deal with right now so he pushed that away.
"Yeah, its definitely a great place to go if you're looking for something mechanical... not so much for a pretty view though," he said with a bit of a laugh. Holding out his hand towards her he smiled. "My name's Kyota. Nice to meet you!" he said happily.

Heavy footsteps approached, though the man who made the noise didn't look like he could possibly be the cause. His long black coat fluttered just a bit behind him as he walked, regardless of the heat that, even at night, almost always seemed to encompass the entire Canyon area. Despite his bare neck, Deuce was a Raven, equally if not more so qualified than any other. He had not been trained; he didn't need to be.
Deuce made his way over to the pair, kneeling down before them to report. "Masters, I come with orders from the Master Second," the darkly clad man's voice was mechanical, yet somehow had a soothing tone in it. There was no emotion as he spoke, eyes diverted to shoe level rather than even considering making eye contact. He had intentionally Gone around, so that he could approach the pair from below, and now had himself perched on the steps as though a bird to await a cue of any kind from either of them for him to continue.

Setra tilted her head slightly to one side and smiled at Kyota. He seemed nice enough. She didn't have a clue if he was apart of AVALANCHE or not. Had he mentioned it? She didn't know. She was told she shouldn't talk about the organization, though. She thought they were being too secretive. "Nice to meet you, Kyota..." She'd have continued, if it weren't for the slightly familiar footsteps, and then the image of a man approaching them.
As Deuce kneeled before her, she frowned. She still wasn't used to this kind of behavior. She was only seventeen after all, and she was no sort of royalty. She'd rather be treated like a normal person. And his mechanical voice honestly didn't improve anything. She felt ridiculous in situations like these. She rubbed the back of her neck uncomfortably and then nodded her head.
"'Kay. What's he say?" She bit her lower lip. She kept feeling more and more out of place. She didn't dare glance at Kyota. Feeling like the fool that she was. Hair drooped over her face. She pulled her scarf up over her mouth.

"I am to accompany the both of you Masters to the second headquarters in Junon,"he started, managing to keep himself perfectly still. Well, at least that answered her question about Kyota, confirming him as another member. From the sound of her voice, Deuce could tell Setra was more than a little uncomfortable at the moment, but there wasn't much he could do to rectify the situation...Protocol demanded that he remain formal before the Masters, and even respectful to the more conventional Ravens.
Next his voice dropped slightly to keep the more specific details quiet,"The Raven Touscon has been causing problems. Master Second requests that she be escorted back here for Retraining." There was no need for him to go over his own orders, unless asked.
"There is a vessel waiting to take us, as soon as both of you Masters can be ready,"Deuce remained where he was, in case either of them had questions, or until one or the other dismissed him. He had nothing to pack, nothing to prepare for the trip; he could leave at any time...As soon as they were ready, the three would be able to depart.

At the sound of the approaching footstep Kyota retracted his hand and brought both of them to his sides purely on instinct. Growing up in the slums it'd been almost required that he could defend himself from an "at ease" style position as fights broke out frequently between kids, and often for no reason other than they were bored.
Glancing at the man who'd approached Kyota thought it was amazing that the guy wasn't dead of heat stroke. Dressed in all black with the temperature as high as it was? If it was Kyota, he'd have passed out long ago. Ah well, whatever he felt like wearing was his business and not Kyota's. Not until the man fell to his knees before them anyway.
Now things were getting a little uncomfortable for Kyota. He rather disliked the idea of having people bowing down to him, if only for the fact that it had to draw gazes like no tomorrow. He glanced over at the woman he'd been speaking to and she seemed rather uneasy about the whole thing as well, though she did get the man talking about why he was there.
So Junon was their next destination. Figures, he just arrives and he's suddenly thrown somewhere else. "Well, if that's the case I suppose we should get packing. It would seem that we'll have plenty of time to talk once again in the future!" he said cheerfully. "Glad I don't have too much to pack... shouldn't take very long. I'll see you all at the entrance to Cosmo Canyon shortly. Until then... take care!" he said with a smile and a slight wave as he headed back towards his room. He felt slightly bad about leaving her alone in such an unusual and awkward position, but he had to pack. Again. That caused him to sigh as he went along.

Setra frowned all the more, though it couldn't be seen behind the scarf that hid her mouth so well. She thought she would have enjoyed being apart of AVALANCHE, but she felt more like a little girl than ever. Having to run around after her own "kind" like they were slaves or something? What was this retraining crap? What were Ravens, anyway? She wanted to save the planet and hurt the Turks real good, sure, the planet deserved to be saved and Shin-Ra had done a lot of bad to everyone...
Then again, Setra didn't know a bloody thing about what Shin-Ra, or their new counterpart, was doing now... Now to help fix their mistakes. Still, she couldn't help but feel strange in these situations that had nothing to do with their main objective.
She was beginning to wonder what, exactly, that was.
Suddenly, however, she got to her feet and nodded her head. She avoided Deuce's eyes and turned around. "I just need to get something. I'll be down in ten minutes. Get a car ready." Kyota sounded too cheerful. Deuce sounded too mechanical. And she felt like Deuce was holding something back. She took a half step to the side, to see Deuce's figure, but she would not look at his face. "Did you have other orders? We aren't really just going for Touscon, are we?" She didn't understand why they would send three people to retrieve one person. Touscon had seemed pretty cooperative as far as she saw. Then again, she didn't really see many Ravens often. So if they were changing...
What is a Raven, anyway?

Deuce refused to move his sunglass-shielded eyes from the stair they had been locked on ever since he bowed. As Setra stood, he listened patiently to be dismissed, and when she ordered the car, he simply stated, "It will be done." He continued listening, as Kyota's footsteps grew fainter and fainter as he walked away from the other AVALANCHE member and the Raven. His vital signs confirmed it: Kyota was uncomfortable around Deuce...That reaction was not unreasonable. In fact, it was the most logical response for most...Really, the black-clad man would have been surprised with anything else.
Setra continued to speak, after a small side-step. He did not move. "Affirmative. Master Second has given me additional orders to be carried out with the Raven Ulf,"he replied, in response to her first question. As for the second statement, Deuce responded as he was intended to, "Negative. Those are the orders as I was to relay them to the Masters from Master Second." His voice had no tone with which to judge truth from deception, nor any other inflection of any sort.
He continued to kneel, processing the information he was picking up from Setra; She seemed to be thinking. Quite a lot...She too seemed to have uncertainty regarding the Raven before her...Once again, it was not an unusual response.

Setra became expressionless. She turned around and left, heading towards her home near the top of the canyon to retrieve her belongings. She decided to wipe clean her doubts and act like the professional she was supposed to be. If there even were professionals among the AVALANCHErs. They were called terrorist groups.
But Setra believed they were doing good.
Weren't they?
Of course they were. That was why she was moving up the stairs at a quicker pace, getting pumped for a mission that she hadn't ever had before. It was a retrieval mission, but it was exciting anyway. It made her feel like something was moving, even if nothing was moving at all. And that was how it was. Nothing was moving. They had taken one step forward and two steps back. That was why Touscon needed retraining.
It was okay, though.
Stepping through her door, she grabbed her parasol and a few other items which she stuffed into the pockets of her shorts. She strapped the parasol to her back, like she usually did, and clicked her wrench and sheathed her trench knife to her sides. She glanced at a picture frame on her dresser and gave it a slight smile. Then she was off.
Kyota was already at the entrance, waiting. She assumed Deuce was somewhere around, too, because Kyota seemed to be looking antsy. But it might have just been Setra's imagination.
"I'm ready when you are."

Kyota glanced up at the sound of a non-mechanical voice. Looking towards the source he was greeted by the sight of the woman he'd been talking to earlier. "Hey there. Glad it didn't take you too long!" he greeted cheerfully. Now that he thought about it he hadn't caught her name.
Ah well, they'd have plenty of time for that kind of talk along the way. He took a deep breath and let it out slowly. Something about this all felt kinda off. Still, he wanted to deal the Turks a blow, and these people were the ones that gave him the best chance to do that. So despite his uneasiness about all this he planned to do whatever they asked of him to the best of his abilities.
"Well then, once Deuce gets here we can head off. I'm pretty sure he's somewhere around here but I'm not positive as to where..."
