Kookal is a medium sized trading outpost and village at the north of the dessert continent. Although the town is not actually a port it does have one small docking pier and it is here that the ship comes in to the dessert continent. Once here one can buy many delicacy's of the dessert along with obscure technologies. It is also here that the legendary dune ships are built and raced regularly on a track to the south of the town. Dune ships are the best way to cross the dessert but procuring one is of a fairly hard difficulty as those with them often do not wish to part with them exept for a large bag of gold.
main areas: Trading Square , Food market, Racetrack, docking pier.

Nakasumi docked on this bold new continent, and gently jumped off the worn boat. She approached a nearby sailor and placed 10,000 gil in his hands (from her family, she was given everything, so she was basically loaded sweatdrop )
"look after this ship here, and you can keep that" she whispered to him.
"and 'ow d'ya now ya can trust me? 'ow d'ya know i wont take this money and run?" he smirked.
"because then u'd be a fool, underestimating me. Now heres my question," she said drawing out her katana to his throat, "Do you want to bet your life on it that i wont hunt you down?" she snapped.
"er," he quivered, "its s'k y..you can trust me, i swear i wont!"
"good man" she replied, placing her sword back, and walked away towards the market.

She hesitated, then paused and stepped towards a small stall.
"Buy or sell?" an old lady from the shadows asked, with a groany old voice.
"buy, do you have a map by any chance? mines a bit..out of date" she requested, showing a stone age map, crumbling in her hand.
"Wheres the Epidonis continent on this thing?" she said, examining the map thoroughly .
"Thats exactly why i need a new one sweatdrop "
"well your in luck my dear, i've one in stock. That'll be 20,000 gil" she said whist taking out her hand, ready for it to pile in.
"what do you take me for? i may be young, but im not stupid. I've seen travellers everywhere with them. dont tell me you've got one left. i'll give you 200gil for it. Take it or leave it, otherwise im off to find a more.. negotiable sales person"
"your not as light-headed as you look dear, 250 gil and its yours"
"i'll take that as a compliment, and i'll take that" she replied, pulling out a satchet and taking out two moderatly sized gold coins and one small, placing it in her hand and snatching the map from the other. She nodded, followed by a "thanks" and continued to the inn.

She asked the inn keeper for a simple one nights stay. He nodded and took the 50 gil she passed to him.
"Before i go to my room, may i ask you which road exactly should i take to go to geiroach?" she said to him quietly.
"don't know whys you wanted to be going there, but i'd suggest you take the southern road straight there, and make sure you follow it. Otherwise you'll be lost for days, and there ain't no way you'd be able to survive desert conditions. dont you have a compass?" he asked.
"afraid not. It was lost at sea in the storm about three nights ago. I may have to buy another"
"Na, here," he said throwing a blood red compass to her, "a traveller left his couple days ago in 'is room. Won't be comin back for it, you can have it if ya want"
"Good," she nodded catching it smoothly, "that'll save some haggling" and with that she walked into her room and slept for the night without a sound.

She awakened at precisly 5:30am, hoping to catch a decent start to her journey. She picked up her rucksack and lugged it over her left shoulder, but not before checking it so that to make sure no robber had come during the night. She walked out, thanking the inn keeper, then frooze, examining the journey ahead.
"I'll make it through this...this isnt where its going to end" and she took one last gulp and began striding to Geiroach.
The journey took an overall of seven days, it was long and hard with little food, but Nakasumi didn't and couldn't give up. After the exausting week, she had finally arrived at Geiroach...

Yarshe stumbled into the dock. First crazy people fighting, then a walk to follow a note she received. Out of nowhere!! "This place is insane...but intresting.." she concluded. Yarshe approached a sailor and asked "Is there a boat i could board?" Yes it was vague but Yarshe was kind of confused at her own actions at the time.

"I need to go to Zilbul." Yarshe continued. "ya' got some gil?" asked the soldier gruffly. "um,...excuse me?" stammered Yarshe. She assumed this was this worlds' currency. Probably the only thing she had were coins from her homeland and some other funny coins she had stumbled across while traveling in the desert. Timidly she took out these coins saving a few Takarian ones, "Is this alright?" The sailor looked suspiciously at her. He seperated the gil from the takarian coins. "What the heck are these??" he shouted. Yarshe yelped a bit. The sailor calmed "they ARE nice i suppose, could get some gil from this. Get on."

Kaine arrived at the food market where various desert traders make bargain with serious buyers, the man in white he has been chasing has disappeared from view into the crowds.
He has kept his chocobo with the guards at the gate since chocobo's arent allowed in the market, as he was browsing the stalls a man in a hood approached him offering a world map for a price.
"WHAT?!!", he shouted in the middle of the crowd at the hooded man "100gil is just too much you know..", he continued to try to bargain for a lower price.
But he needed the map alot and he finaly gave up for 100gil. As he handed the gold over to the hooded man, a man wearing white appeared again not far from where he was standing trying to get a ride on a ship at the docks, quickly he went out the gates, took his chocobo with him and went to the docks but it was already too late as the ship had already left.
".. missed him..", he said as he petted his chocobo.
He went up to the docks and tried to bargain for a boat ticket that went the same route as the man in white did.

He bought a ticket on the next ship out which was headed for the mist continent and for some strange reason he felt that something bad was about to happen.
The destination was Lynis down south of the mist continent and as he was about to keep his map back into his pack the ship shook before finally leaving the docks and out into the open seas.
The ride was smooth until bad weather struck, lightning and thunder roared as the ship tried to maintain a straight heading out of the storm without getting turned over in the rough tides and sinking down below to a watery grave.
Kaine left his kabin and went up to the deck to check things out and he was surprised to see the overwhelming storm over him, lightning was pratically striking the water ahead of the ship as if drawn to it by an unknown source.
"what the-", his words was cut off as a huge tidal wave rise up in the distance and was about to hit the ship on the side, one of the sailors aboard the ship started yelling at each other and some even considered abandoning ship.
Everything went blank as the tidal wave struck the ship and sweeping Kaine who was standing on deck into the wild ocean...

Nakasumi entered the village staggering, bloody and torn. The training she'd decided to catch up on was vicious, as every monster she faced was unbelievably powerful. Despite this though, she knew with each fight she grew stronger and stronger.
She stabbed her katana into the ground staring at the small village, leaning her weight onto it. It felt like months, and she knew she would have missed Kaine; but she also knew he'd have better things to do on his journey.
She hobbled into the inn, struggling to even scrounge from the bundling pocket of money. With all the training came much gil.
After she paid for a stay, she leant onto the bed and instantly collapsed and fainted from exhaustion. She needed to get back on track as soon as possible, and now she knew she might just be strong enough...

Nakasumi woke up, with a figure towering over her.
"Wha-what? whats happening?" she managed to murmur out.
"Oh, im sorry to wake you miss, but you've been asleep for about four days now, and we'll need your payments"
On that, Nakasumi woke with a jump (with searing pains), four days? Though she needed it, her sleep had been dreadful. She'd been having those terrible nightmares again; but worse then ever. They'd seem to come to life, as if she was there again, in her house cowering from the over-sized figure whilst the flames burned her in every direction. She'd only been about 10 when it happened, so she didn't have much knowledge on fighting and her mother and father seemed just about as knowledgable as she was.
It was funny though, how her mother and father were useless at fighting. Nakasumi, whenever she tried, had been quite handy with the occasional pole when she was young (just to mess around with) but obviously it couldn't have been inherited. At points she wondered if she was adopted (although her parents frequently reassured her and showed the valid birth certificates).
She stood and apologised to the young woman and gave her the right amount of pay. "Thankyou" Nakasumi siad to her with a smile. She'd become more cheerful lately, she couldn't decide why, but she smiled a lot.

Finally, she could leave for Otaku and return once again. It didn't feel like she'd been gone long but it was definitly reassuring to go back home.
She searched briefly for the man she'd left her boat with, and he didn't seem too happy to let it go.
"But i'll give ya some money for it! its a fine ship, and in this weather, it would probably just crash and burn on the shore, c'mon please?"
Nakasumi shoke her head, smiling. "Im sorry, i know you've grown to it, but i need it for my travels"
After the man let out a long, frustrated sigh, he gave in and let Nakasumi get back to her travels, where she would find out the truth of who this man truely was.

Kuron entered the city from the south. He headed for the docking pier hoping to find a ship that could take him away from the dessert.
"So it begins..." He whispered to himself whilst looking towards the water.
He entered the docking area and sat down in meditating position while waiting for a ship to appear. His eyes closed, he began to sink deeper and deeper into meditation.

Nakasumi checked her supplys for the short journey once again, until she soon realised that she'd used most of them up whilst training.
Great she thought to herself, as she jumped off her boat. Now i have to buy some more...
She walked rather slowly as she glided along the docks, deep in thought of what she needed. Obviously, she hadn't been paying much attention to her surroundings.
She flew fat on her face (with great agony) as she tripped over this strange person who just seemed to sit there with his eyes closed. She wasn't even sure if he'd noticed she had tripped over him. She got to her knees and rubbed her head as the wooden dock floors didn't exaclty cushion her fall. "Ow..." she mumbled to herself before she could do anything else.

Kuron silently opened his eyes and peered at Nakasumi searchingly. He then slowly rose from the ground and stood while still loking at Nakasumi. He had a calm look about him, and his voice sounded like he knew more then he said.
"Why the hurry miss?.... Going anywhere?"
