I wanted to open up a discussion about avatars for the races of UnderGaia.
So far we have come to accept three kinds of dark elven avatar types for the most part:
* Superior Form Platinum Skin and elven ears
* Tone E (darkest) skin and Tone E elven ears
* Tone E (darkest) skin and Tone E elven ears with black eye stripe tattoo
For demons, it's really just about anything, as a demon can probably look like anything at any time.
Maywe could describe different kinds of demons by appearance too? Maybe tek tek some original demon forms (though demons would not have to appear in those forms) and then designate what those types of demons are specialized in? Just brainstorming some ideas.
EDIT: Ari Linsar pointed out about elves that are part-drow. I should have included, that most of us have come to accept that elves with skin other than Tone E can be accepted as having some (or even a majority) of non-drow blood in them. So a half-drow might have Tone D skintone.

can we count tone D also? my chara has been like this since the begining, when we didn't have tone E, and I even invented a reason for her to be more light-skined than most drow (one of her grandmothers is a wild elf)

You can always delete your avatar, and change it to E tone.
Unless, you want your story.
But, if you do want to change, you go to My Avatar, then you click the delete avatar button. Don't click anything on the page that pops up but Delete avatar, then you can change your sex if you want, doubt it, and you can change your skin tone.
And like Diuy said, it's easy to delete and remake avatars in the My Avatar screen. No items are lost in the process, except for hair, because once bought it becomes a permanent part of your avatar. All carried items are retained though, and just get put back in your inventory so it's safe. So remaking an avatar, the only thing you'll have to purchase is hair again unless you want to stick with noobie hair.

I edited the intro post to reflect what you have brought up. I recommend Tone E for anyone who is 3/4 or more drow, but it's really up to the individual how they want to look. I also recommend using black eyestripe tattoo regardless of how much drow blood to emphasize association with UnderGaia drow, but again, it's not neccessary either. It's all personal preference really. One of the reasons a good many of us use the black eye stripe, is not just for ourselves, but so other people completely unfamiliar with drow or UnderGaia will recognize us at a glance as part of a sub-culture on Gaia and it will make people in general more curious about us, lending to our mystique.

XD I know how to do that, I did it with Zilvriia because I could really picture her with the dark skin, but by the time the tone E was released I had just gotten used to seeing my avi in tone D, and I like the story I made up (even if it's a pit lame XXD) so I preffer not to change it. I'll give a chance to the black eye tatoo, anyways 3nodding thankies you both nn-

My avi will be changing soon to fit my character better. LiNeeerafae wasn't made when I made this avi... And now that I can do a whole body dye, I'm collecting the ink to create my drow avi. After that I will most likely change the hairstyle too.
