Personality: a silent, shy person who rarely speaks. He exhibits a gentle nature and is very kind though he does not show it often. Most of the times he appears to be defiant and vicious like a wild animal and acts cold towards any slave owner that he does not trust or that has not gained his trust.

Background: Watari is an orphan and an exile. Before his exile, Watari was raised in a monestary for ten years, trained and tutored by his adoptive father and by the age of nine he was a very skilled warrior and very knowledgeable. The country he lived in was actually in fact a large empire ruled by a benevolent and kind emperor. However, though the emperor brought peace to the lands, the two races that shared the lands, human and demon, constantly waged war against one another. On his tenth birthday though, during the Star Festival, a horrible trajedy ensued. The village he was in during the festival was attacked by demons, led by strange men in black armour and a massacre ensued, bathing the streets red with blood and darkening the clear night sky with smoke. During the chaos, Watari's adoptive father was slain by the black armoured men and this drove Watari into madness, provoking him to turn into a demon. In his demon form, he rampaged through the city killing every enemy he could find in a blood lust rage, but even though he destroyed the enemy, except for the armoured men who fled upon his transformation, he destroyed half the village and the villagers in the process. When Watari returned to normal he passed out in the streets and awoke in the imperial dungeon. While awaiting trial, Watari was cruelly tortured, beaten, and questioned in the dungeons for five long years. When his trial date did arrive, he was found guilty (almost instantly) for murder and was accussed of being an enemy spy because he was a half-demon. However, rather than being executed the emperor settled on banishing the boy on pain of death should he ever return to the sands of his country. Watari was then thrown onto a ship and then placed on a exile's raft where he drifted on the oceans alone for six long years before his boat was found by a passing merchant vessel. Now Watari spends his time hunting evil demons that plague the lands while at the same time searching for clues as to whom the black armoured men were and how he can exact his sweet revenge on the men that ruined his life. His only clue is a rusty gold pendant with a black dragon on the crest... However on his travels he was drugged, captured and sold onto the slave market.

Background: According to his school records, he is an only child who lost his parents 11 years ago in an accident and he travels from school to school with his guardians. However in reality, Watari has no guardians and lives alone on his own. His parents were not killed in an accident but were murdered in front of him when he was just a boy. His purpose for travelling from city to city is so he can find the killers... and a place to fit in.
