Hear ye, my teds! I have created for us a special thread in the Event Forum! Come and post and share affection with your fellow Gaians!

It is Here.

Huzzah, Sir Oscar! I have been thoroughly enjoying myself in the Teddy Bear Kisses thread. It is truly difficult to keep our thread on the first page. I posted and then went back to the main forum to see how fast and how far threads dropped. We were on page 7 and my post was still listed in the current minute! eek I love your new guild banner, and I "quoted" your hearts for "bumping" our thread. I'm going to keep our thread going tonight until it is officially Valentine's Day. Sleep well. heart

I left some honey cakes and cocoa on a table for our overnight arrivals in the teddy bear kissing thread. We've had 130 visitors vote in the poll so far! I hope they are all kissing you (I know that I always kiss the person who started the thread I'm visiting--and maybe any other tempting cheeks I see) because I've given 33 kisses and only received 13. confused Not that we bears keep count or anything. I think Miradora and Floradora got more kisses than they gave by posting in "kiss the person above you" threads. Come to think of it, that's where Floradora ran into Eirwyn!

So many of our threads visitors simply run in, kiss, post and rush away. Only one or two have posted more than once. If they tarried, they surely would have kissed you, Lady Gladys! 3nodding
This is a shame, since there are indeed threads where people stay and bump or converse for hours.

Many apologies for my tardy arrival but I did finally make it to your wonderful Valentine's thread, Sir Oscar! Sorry to have missed you as well, Lady Gladys! redface

I've been trying to help my person prepare for her trip. With readying the house for her husband and gathering the wide variety of items for her mother, my person has gotten a bit frazzled. Happily, I can report the packing is complete.

Will be sending back pictures of our adventures in Mexico. iHasta luego! cool

...cuando volverá Slick de su viaje a México? Deseo ver sus fotos!

I've been practicing my Spanish on Wednesday evenings by helping Spanish-speakers fill out surveys for the University of Wyoming. It feels good to be able to use a foreign language again after spending 17 years in New Hampshire. I wanted to learn French while I was there but never got around to it even though half the names in the phone book were of French derivation and you could drive to Quebec in about 4 hours.

Even though we didn't find any new recruits for the League during the Valentine's Day celebration, I think we definitely made a positive contribution to the general chaos. We kissed and responded to every post, and some people did come back to post more than once. I was pleased with the number of people who actually mentioned teddy bears or in some way acknowledged us personally in their posts. I think we only had 2 or 3 negative posts--and we addressed those in dignified teddy bear style!

Perhaps we can try something similar in future special events. After all, how can they resist us...we always serve refreshments!

¡Hola, Señorita Gladys! ¡Tengo fotos! My person and I got back earlier this week. My person and I are learning a few Spanish phrases. Thank goodness for language CDs.

Had a great time visiting my person's Mom who lives in a little town on the north shore of Lake Chapala (largest lake in Mexico, south of Guadalajara). Photos are currently being edited... all 215 of them! Will post a link when they're ready for viewing.

Buenas noches, Slick. How did you get the correct Spanish punctuation in your post? I was scouting around the character map, but ningún suerte. To those of us up to our ears in snow (although I'm sure any precipitation sounds good to Eirwyn) a lake in Mexico sounds beautiful. How long has your mother lived there?
