When you say the whole series, it's kind of misleading. Do you mean the ones from NES, Gameboy, PS1, PS2, Gamecube, and PSP?
There are many MGS games. I'm thinking you mean the main ones that everyone knows, 1, 2, and 3, on PS1, Gamecube, and PS2 respectively.
I've only beaten the second one (PS2). Making my way through the first and 3rd (Gamecube, PS2). And MGSPO+ (I need MGSPO D: )
I must be the only member not to have beaten all the games at least once over XD
I wonder why I'm so obsessed... I've seen all the games played through, and know the story line pretty well anyways.

Ehh.....i only have 3 MGS games......Acid2(psp) MGS2(ps2) and MGS3(ps2) but i'll soon add one more game to these once its released for the PS3........

I have only betten Metal Gear solid 1 about 7 or 8 times. I have played the 2ed one but have not betten it and never played Metal Gear Solid 3.

I don't bother counting. Unless there's an indicator on the save file, I don't usually count.
But I'd say...
MG1 and MG2 about 3 - 4 times each.
MGS1 (original and Twin Snakes combined) about... 10 times.
MGS2 about 6 times, maybe...
MGS3 probably 7 - 10 times...
Portable Ops at least 5 times...
MGS4 only 3 times I think.
Honestly, I don't envy the people who beat MGS4 more than 10 times by now. Because once you beat something so many times, you start taking it for granted.
I'm playing through MGS4 again now, and I'm still absorbing and appreciating every moment, every cutscene, every action sequence, it's all still fresh for me.
