There has been some debating on which movie was better, the original or the 2005 Tim Burton Version. What is your opinion? Then again The old one was already good, but how does everyone feel Tim Burton did?

I say TimBurton ruined the classic. The whole thing was messed up. Tim Burton SHould have left it alone. That's like messing with The Wizard of Oz(I know that there were remakes of the Wizard of Oz like the Wiz and the recent one with the Muppets and Ashanti but the characters didn't change much and the storyline stayed focused and true to the story)

I agre with the part where it''s true to the book, and Tim Burton add a great feel to it. I just missed the old songs.

The orignal was something to be cherished and well to be left the same, I know that Hollywood killed the story, but it was good anyway.

I wish the kep the original songs, then it would of been awsome, then again most kids now won't appriciate it as much of the older viewers. Also Johnny Depp can't sing, so no use there.

i found the original more creepy, gene wilder was just plain freaky in my opinion, but i have a soft spot for the johhny x tim partnership. they're both good and equally different which i like, but i'm more inclined to watch tim burton's remake as well, the old one was just too darn cheery!!

Sagejin The orignal was something to be cherished and well to be left the same, I know that Hollywood killed the story, but it was good anyway. at least there is one person that agrees with me.

in my opinion they both kicked a** i agree to the songs and the ompa's sucked in the new one really really bad but was nice to have a special effects update to the movie and i think jhonny depp portrayed wat a recluisve chocolate factory owner shoulda acted like instead of the happy go lucky older version

Bakabwoy I agre with the part where it''s true to the book, and Tim Burton add a great feel to it. I just missed the old songs. The lyrics to the new songs came directly from the book, but yea, I agree the older songs were funner.
