Kiddies books like Curious George. I love them because my dad would read it with me for my reading logs for school.

I read my first chapter book at 6, which was 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. I loved it so much I don't know how many times that I've read it! The first time that I got all the way through it I was so happy! I tried to read it several times before. (I had gotten the book at 5 years. ) My mother laughed when I asked her to teach me how to look up words in the dictionary so that I could read it. I remember running across the house, book in hand and feet patting against the carpet, "Mommy! What does this word mean?" She would tell me and giggle as I scampered off back to my room repeating what she had said.

I was probably around 6 when I first read The 1001 Arabian Nights for the first time. In fact I had a large full color plate version that was titled "The Arabian Nights" and I still remember being surprised when I discovered the full title of the book. To this day it is still one of my very favorites.
I must have read it a dozen times, frequently with a flashlight under the covers because I was supposed to be asleep.
