anyway, about the skirt. it is white and has a lot of design on it. i will post pictures tomorrow while i am out with tj. who moved out by the way so i am really-really sad and lonely.
D':

They're really simple, you just make a rectangle and decorate it with lace and/or ribbons. If you want to make an alice bow, I believe there's a nice pattern in the new Gothic & Lolita bible, they have them in English now.

what about the bottom? i have one that has lace sticking out the middle of two pieces of black fabric.
i think i get it now, i re-looked at some tutorials. they do not make much sence, but i am better at learning threw experience.

as for the gothic and lolita bible, where can i pick that up? or is it an order off line thing?

i do know what it is, though. just to let you know.

I think a small hat trimmed with a short veil would look nice with the black dress. 3nodding Like.... User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. this one, maybe, except black and with a large tulle bow on the back. This is just me fantasizing, though. I have no idea how to make a hat like that one... gonk

Headdresses are fairly simple to make. A good starting point is to go to some Lolita webshops and find on that you like. Note the measurements that the site lists of the headdress and use those to make a pattern. (adding a little extra for seam allowance.) The tricky part of making one is finding the right materials, specifically lace. There is so much unpleasant lace out there. Good lace should be soft, not scratchy, and shouldn't look net-like. Cluny lace is generally good, as well as much Venise lace. Try to avoid raschel and polyester laces.

i found some good lace, i am really picky about it. and so i was just wondering, how do you get the lace to stick out between the two pieces of fabric?

XD i am soo happy people are talking....but can we move this conversation to the help page ^^;....thank yous
i love the dresses you are getting....i will start getting some easy to use tutorials soon...

i quoted your post o it was here, and i made a headdress, it is pretty bad but it is not TERRIBLE.
xD
it is not done because i do not have any ribbon for the tying part.
D':
my mom will bring some home tonight.

.o1. .o2.

EDIT
do you wear the ribbon under your chin? or under your hair so it looks like it is just balancing on your head?

Oh, that is nice for your first headdress! ^_^ To wear a headdress like this, you should wear it so the front edge sits right behind your bangs. Securing ribbons should be tied under the chin. 3nodding

thank you for the help.
and what should i do for a purse? all i have are over the shoulder bags, and i am guessing those would push my skirt down, which would be bad.

Oh, I'm sorry. It's a magazine, they just started making them in English. If you look through a few book stores you may be able to find it, I would try buying online, though. Amazon.com has them! For a purse, you may be able to find something lolita-able by scouring malls, but the simplest way would be just to save up and get a really pretty and nice brand one.

That does look nice for your first one! ^_^ I would try using some higher-quality lace once you get the hang of it, if you can find any. It is hard to find good quality lace. neutral You can wear it with the ribbon underneath your chin or behind your head. Whichever you think looks better.

i just finished it, and the reason i used low quality was because it was a test.

i will go to the mall this weekend and try to find something. all i have are over the shoulder.
D8<
but yeah, brand... how much do those usually cost[i do not want to go look]? and i never really saw one that i liked.

HEY, i finished it. hurr

Well, it really depends on the brand that you buy from.. Metamorphose's tend to range from $75-$100, while handbags by Baby, The Stars Shine Bright and Moi-meme-Moitie can cost quite a bit more, up to $200.

I like your headdress! ^_^ Is that embroidered lace? I think that the only thing that I would do differently is I would ruffle the lace tighter on the border of the headdress to add a bit of frill and so that it doesn't look strained around the corners. But I do like it. ^^

alright, that seems a little much to me. seeing as i get a bag use it for about three months and than toss it. but i do not really want to buy brand names, i have never cared for brand anyway. but like... i should get more money so i can buy it. because the quality is everything in lolita.

yeah, it is embroidered. it took me a little bit but it turned out not great around the edges. and i think it is small. and yeah, next time i do it i plan on ruffling them, putting them closer together and working a lot harder.

Ok skirts are like the easiest things it all depends on if you are going to use an elastic band or pleat it or scuntch it. Hese is what i used for my first skirt then i altered it and pleated the top instead of using elastic ^^
this it her site she has patterns for tons of stuff

Just cotton would be fine for bloomers. I'd use a nice lightweight material. Or maybe you could make some thick soft material ones for wintertime.
