With sunlight warming his wings Udi flew through the air at a nice and easy glide. Was there anyone out there worth meeting anymore? He had met that little herd foal Dahak, that was just an akward encounter there, then the meeting of his father's new mate, that was quite interesting too, and then Fawkes, that stuck up bird. Okay so he wasn't really a bird but he hadn't been very pleasant that was certain. Maybe he could just have a nice relaxing walk along the beach? When was the last time he had met anyone decent? He honestly could not remember a time.

Slowly he made his way to the beach and softly landed on the grainy sand. The waves gently lapped at his hooves as he walked along the water's edge. Yes, just a nice relaxing stroll sounded quite good to him. Perhaps he could meet a nice young stallion? Yeah right, he hadn't found any yet other than his father who shared his same views, and even his father was fond of mares. Oh yes mares were pretty, but that was about it. There really wasn't any sexual attraction for him there. Well perhaps things would change? Then again the odds of that being today were quite slim to none.

Asad moved across the sand like a dancer in a ballet, his long mane danced with the breeze and he toyed with the waves letting the waters crash near his hooves but never touch him. He flared his wings challenging the somewhat calm seas and laughed "c'mon lady sea you're slow today." He lept forward letting out a mewling almost growl like sound then jumped back once again laughing in his deep voice

He paused to catch his breath, staring out into the oceans never endless expanses. A strong wind once more picked up his long mane and tail whipping it about his bulky body. "What a fine day .. now I only need someone to share it with .." Asad sighed and shook his head then spun on his heels and took off charing at full speed down the shifting sands.

Udi, who had not been paying attention, managed to walk right into the other Jala stallion. After a few initial moments of confusion, the purple Jala shook his mane and head a bit trying to clear his thoughts. First of all, where had this Stallion come from? He was quite sure he had been paying attention enough to notice any new comers, then again there had been those moments where he had drifted off into his own world, perhaps that was when he had showed up? It was certainly when they had managed to crash into each other.

Slowly the golden tailed Jala collected himself and moved back a bit to observe the stallion. Before him stood another Jala, such as he, but this one was patterened like some large cat. He was, Udi had to admit, quite handsome. Great, now he was setting himself up for heartbreak. He hadn't ever met anyone else that was like him, so why should he assume this stallion would be any different? Perhaps it was that tiny little spark of hope that refused to go out inside of him. Even if he wasn't of the same preferance Udi could still flirt right? He didn't see why it would do any harm. He especially needed someone a little more qilling than Fawkes was.

"I-I'm terribly sorry," The golden eyed Jala began. "I tend to just daze off like that and then I don't watch where I'm going." He paused a moment before he started rambling on. "Well there isn't much I can do to fix what I just did, but I can at least give you my name. I'm Udi, son of Diego and Iona. Who might you be?" He kept is mood and voice quite chearful so as not to frighten off the other stallion.

Asad tried to skid to a halt when the other jala suddenly came into view, it didn't work to well and they collided. He flapped his wings and danced backwards then sideways for a moment. As the other stood Asad took him in quietly quiet, he was a plane stallion but a most pleasing purple offset by the golden tail. They were the colors of royalty and perked Asad's interest.

"It's quiet alright," he smiled gracefully at the other male and node his head bowing in a most chivalrous manner "I'm Asad it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance Udi." He paused for a moment as the other nequus spoke of his family "I ... I dunno who my family is .. it's been so long since I've seen any of them." The lion colored jala flicked his ears back and forth brow furrowing.

After a moment though he tossed his head and grinned again golden brown eyes sparkling. "Well, no matter I guess ... it's such a fine day would you like to accompany me for a walk then Udi?" He twitched his tail across his powerful rump stretching his wings once before folding them down against his back.

No family? He rather hoped he hadn't upset the other Jala by brining up the subject of family. That was the last thing that he wanted to do right now. "Well I am quite pleased to meet you Asad." His ears and attitude perked as he began to walk next to the stallion. "I would love to go for walk."

Slowly he walked along the water's edge playing with the waves a little. He would wait until the foamy line came close and he would jump over it before it could reach him, then jump quickly back before it receded again. Oh he loved the ocean, though it could be quite cold in the winter months, but on days like this it was perfect, with the sun high above and the sky clear with the occasional cloud dotting the blue. Birds and little shelled creatures scuttled away at their approach and took to the sky or dug deep into the fine sand.

"How long have you been here at Quirne?" He asked Asad. If they were to walk then they ought to converse. "I came from Ryuten a while ago, had to talk with my father and then ran into an odd Ichsa. I believe he said his name was Fawkes.. in any case the encounter wasn't very long. He wasn't very friendly, not rude, just didn't talk much and I found him to be something of a bore. Though apparently he can control Fire.. but I guess I've seen a lot of wierd things before.." He stopped himself before he could ramble on much longer.

Asad chuckled watching the stallion dance around, he was just doing that same dance himself not long ago. Tossing his head the stallion let his log mane fly once more the silken strands seeming to hang gracefully in the air for a moment before coming to rest on the side of his neck once more. Asad wasn't vain and didn't think highly of himself, but he loved his mane and enjoyed the way it flew when he tossed his head or shook his body.

"I've been here for only a few days, though I don't live to far away I tend to spend more time in D'ob." His footsteps were light despite his body size and Asad moved into his typical dancing step making his mane dance and rustle against his coat like the waves upon the shore. "I've haven't meet many others .. actually you are only the second I've ever meet," he laughed slightly at that "it's not like I haven't tried ... I just seem to always travel into the uninhabited areas of the world."

The stallion was enjoying Udi's companionship, although Asad had rarely though about what he found more appealing, stallions or mares, he decided that Udi's company was more than welcome. He continued to dance along flicking his tail rapidly as his wings shifted against his back.

He danced in front of Udi and started teasing the waves once again, dancing close then bounding away before they could touch his hooves.

Udi laughed to himself a little as he watched the other Jala playing in the waves. Was he the one for him? Udi wasn't quite sure just yet. It seemed a little too soon to tell. Besides, he didn't even know what the stallion thought of him, let alone his preferences. Eventually Udi intended to find out. At the moment though it was much too soon to go about asking such personal questions.

"Haven't met many others? I think I may envy you for that. My crazy family keeps me busy enough, and some of the other Nequus out there are just odd. They make me feel sane, and that's saying something. Especially since no one thinks I am except my family." Should he mention why they thought he wasn't quite right? No, it would be best to keep it in the dark for now. If the Jala asked he would tell him, if not he would stay quiet about it.

Then again, was he sane? I mean he had yet to meet anyone outside his family with his same feelings, what if he wasn't sane? What if there was something wrong with him? Some sort of brain malfunction, some plug that hadn't been put in the right spot? Well, even if he wasn't right in his mind it didn't mean he was going to change just to fit a 'better' public image.

He stopped and let Udi catch up once more, he was a little winded from his play but he quickly caught his breath once more and listened to him talk. "Are any of us truly sane?" he smiled playfully at the purple and gold stallion but then nodded his understanding to what he was saying, back home Asad had been abnormal with his need to travel to see more of the lands he called home and to spread his wings and take to the skies.

He chuckled "I know how it is, the one thing about my parents that I remember is that they weren't thought to be very normal either ... my mother tended to flirt with mares while my father flirted a lot with other stallions and they always seemed to enjoy spending quality time with other mated couples." He laughed "maybe I take after my father? I certainly never meet a filly in foal hood I liked being around enough to stay or I would have stayed instead of leaving my homelands."

He hummed a soft tune to himself, it was a tune burned into his memory by story tellers and he started dancing again to the tune.

Hmm, so his parents were a lot like Udi's then? Well that was quite interesting. Though that didn't mean that Asad shared the same interests as his parents, just because he had never met a mare he liked didn't mean anything. Though it might. Udi had met many mares, none of them sexualy appealing. Stallions though, now that was quite a different feeling. In anycase he assumed it was possible there were exceptions to every rule. His mother had gotten together with his father after all. Apparently the same had been true with Asad's parents.

"Well we all have our oddities then don't we? Just because we are a bit differen't does not mean that we are not sane. Then again I guess it can, it really just depends on the situation. Like, me for example, I like stallions, I can't really help it either, but that does not mean I am not sane. However, this Bae I know, thinks he has this whole other life in his head, goes around singing to himself and muttering about some Judge he's going to go and off. Think his name is Sweeney or something. In any case I honestly don't think he's all there myself." He paused for a moment and chased a little creature that moved sideways and then came back to stand by the stallion.

Asad continued to hum and dance for a moment then stopped and looked to Udi once again "I think my parents were mates, and loved each other dearly but they still kind played around ... though I can't be to sure." So he liked stallions, that was interesting though some how it didn't seem to surprise Asad or bother him. "The only other nequus I meet was a jala mare .. she was pretty and all but there was no attraction sexually or otherwise." Did that make him gay? He really didn't know and it seemed to confuse him for a moment then he laughed again.

There was no doubt Asad liked Udi his company relaxed him, but the lion colored jala didn't know if he wanted to run head first into loving someone he just meet, even someone as beautiful and calming as Udi.

Asad wasn't sure where they were going as they walked, but he didn't care it was nice to have someone he could speak openly with. "I would have liked to see my father again, to seek his advice about things but, I don't think it will ever happened," he was truly confused had he not been told to follow his heart? but what if his heart lead him into something that could hurt it?

Asad shook his brooding thoughts form his mind and started to prance once more as he started to hum that same tune smiling his golden brown eyes glittering.

Udi thought a few moments. He was confused now, what was he going to do? He was attracted to this one. But was it love or lust? Or was it just the fact that Asad seemed to be attracted to him and was the first stallion Udi had met that possibly had the same feelings as he did? What should he do? Run right into a relationship? Or should he play the field a little? He didn't want to hurt his new found companion, but he didn't want to be stuck in a relationship like his father and mother had been in. Diego had loved Iona, but there was always that other mare for his mother. He sighed a little and shook his head before turning his concentration back to Asad.

"Why can't you ask your father?" He hoped he wasn't intruding too much on personal stuff, but he was terribly curious. Maybe he could help the stallion out a little? "I think we're both a little confused at the moment," He admitted. "Or, at least I know I am." He didn't really like to admit that he had weaknesses, but he did. Trying to hide them would only be stupid and get him nowhere.

"My home lands lay far away, and my father would only tell me to follow my heart which goes right to the problem what if my heart tells me to do something that could hurt it in the end?" Asad had never been philosophical or thought things out so carefully .. but then again he'd never been faced with such a predicament as he was in now when his heart told him to do one thing .. but his mind kept warning him that he could be crushed like a flower under an angry hoof.

Asad lowered his head and shook it slightly by the gods this love thing was confusing. The stallion stared at the ground as if he wanted to count every single grain of sand that was scattered upon the beach. He was frowning deeply his eyes troubled then he slowly lifted his head back up "yes, I'm very confused myself .. never have I been so confused." He frowned deeper and his eyes turned once more to the ground bellow him.

The golden tailed Jala quietly walked over Asad and gently nudged him. He was afraid of the same thing Asad was. Commitment. Not in the same way though. Asad seemed to be afraid Udi would leave him and hurt him. Udi was afraid that he would do just that. Then again, he knew that he couldn't. He knew that once he commited himself to someone he would keep himself commited to them no matter what.

"The mind and the heart are two separate things." He started. "In all reality Tis better to have loved and lost that love, then to have never loved at all." Was that really true? Look at Sweeney, he'd just lost his damn mind. Then again there was his father, he seemed happy enough. Iona had changed him for the better, though they weren't still together he knew that Diego still loved Udi's mother. I guess it really depended on what happened, who you loved, and whether your mind was sane to begin with.
PostPosted: Mon Feb 18, 2008 8:57 pm

"Maybe so," he thought silently of a stallion he saw frequently the Aeri had lost his love .. then got her back again now she was pregnant and he was freaking out. Asad's heart was telling him to run head first into this, but his mind told him to take a step back and guard himself against the hurt that was likely to come.

Her twitched his tail and his wings fluttered nervously, why ... why was this so hard. A gusty wind whistled in Asad's ears and he shook his head again letting his wings stretch upwards so the wind could blow between his feather's and make them rustle. "I never thought love could be this hard though .. this confusing and wild."

He smiled half heartedly at the other jala, his happy go lucky spirits seemed to be gone now.

The golden tailed Jala let out a small sigh. This was one of those times that he wished he was as good with words as his sister was. "How do you know it's love? Perhaps what you are feeling is lust?" Maybe it wasn't the right thing to say, but it was something the Jala needed to think about. "How long have we known each other? Not very, and to think it is love so soon? Am I really what you want? You have your whole life ahead of you. If I am one of the few Nequus you have met and you find me attractive you can't take that as love. Maybe you just need to encounter more Nequus first? I don't want you to be stuck with me because neither of us have known many others like ourselves."

He paused a few moments and looked up at the sky. It was still a clear and sunny day with only a few clouds dotting the sky. Birds flew somewhere out of sight calling to each other. Udi stood beside his new-found friend and tried to be as comforting as he could. Though what to do he knew not what. "Maybe we both just need to think it over, or just stay friends for now. Is there really any need to rush things right along?"
