Sad to say (well, not sad, but you know what I mean) I didn't like the series. I gave up after 2 or 3 episodes. I disliked Light, I mean, REALLY disliked him, and I just couldn't get into the whole series. It was like something a 14-year-old would write if he drank like Hemingway, and shopped at Hot Topic. Just dark and depressing. I'll stick with Evanescence, thanks.
(And yes, I realize I sound like a smart-aleck.) Seriously, I didn't like it too much, but it's a joke, so don't take it personal, it's not meant to be rude.
