I run windows xp/vista (duel start up), Mac OSX Lepoard and Linux (last update....I cant remeber the name) and Mac OSX beats the others by far..it is as reliable as Linux as user friendly as Windows and it never ever has any problem running any program...ive got windows box, dos box, rewire box etc and everything runs on my mac and its just amazing Linux is good with testing my work but otherwise I dont really use it.

well tbh i dont play alot of games...the ones I play run fine...im just waiting on the Crysis Patch...but other than that its fine. cod 4 user patch is around..so people do convert things, but I play mostly in boot camp if I need to (a windows emulator) so its perfectly fine.

I dono I use Linux mostly for coding/re-coding or whatever, ive never found it as a fun OS really tbh

...Boot Camp is a bootloader thing..to be able to boot Windows on the EFI setup of the Mac. At least from what I've seen and read, I havn't used it myself, I'm sticking with 10.4.11 and Bootcamp just isn't free for it.

Also... Next-Gen?

Boot camp is a boot loader, but the term next Gen games makes you think more of like what PS3, Wii, and X-s**t has. I have yet to see anyone refer to a computer for next gen gaming not even windows.

I use my mac mini and my old Powerbook G4 to rip and burn dvds and play them on my tv and sourround sound and it can record cable and it is hooked up to a 1tb backup drive where it stores dvds and backs itself up every hour. I even use my laptop as a remote control using the built in VNC.

You could probably do the same with Windows and Linux, but this setup has been perfect straight out of the box.

Oh, and games? I have emulators for all of the classic consoles including the N64. For new stuff, I play my PS3.

userfriendly.org had the perfect defense for the "gameing" question in one of their comics. Computers can be measured by yardsticks other than games, also besides that gaming should be done on game sytems computer tech is progressing so fast the second you buy the latest and greatest video cards it becomes out of date.

I don't get it. That video card will be just as out of date whether you're running Linux or Windows or anything else.
